I’m always surprised (and pleased) that there are still traces of the cream in the morning exactly where I applied it. It hasn’t completely melted into the skin. It’s not sticky, but by touch, you can feel it’s there – OK maybe that means it’s a tiny bit sticky.

REVIEW: Shiseido Benefiance Wrinkle Resist 24 Eye Cream

Shiseido Benefiance WrinkleResist24 Eye Contour Cream

No posts for ages, (Spring Cleaning got a little out of hand), and now one long rambling one. If you want to cut to the chase, then I’m about to crack open my second jar of this Shishedo eye contour cream, I love it!

SHISEIDO BENEFIANCE WRINKLE RESIST 24 EYE CONTOUR CREAM

Designed to target all the common signs of ageing, including crow’s-feet, under-eye lines and corner creases, the anti-ageing eye cream contains burnet extract which revitalises cells and counteracts loss of firmness.

Meanwhile, the nourishing combination of super bio hyaluronic acid N and hydroxyproline intensively hydrates your skin and supports the production of natural collagen.

I’ve never been a fan of eye creams or serums. No matter how thinly I applied them, they have always ‘melted’ as my skin warmed up overnight, and some product would inevitably seep into my eyes. I also found that they didn’t work that well under make up during the day, the cream/serum would slide off, taking my foundation with it.

I did a lot of research before I bought Wrinkle Resist 24. It’s expensive, but nowhere near as pricey as some of the best-selling, highly rated eye creams.

Age-wise, it’s probably the NutriPerfect range that’s more targeted to my skin.

Aimed at women in their 50’s and 60’s with mature skin experiencing wrinkles, discolouration, and loss of resilience associated with hormonal changes.

However, WrinkleResist24 (for those in their 40’s – I wish!) suits me perfectly.

FRAGRANCE & MILIA

A few reviewers have said that the cream can cause milia aka tiny white bumps, I’ve not had those since I was a teenager, to appear under the eyes, something to definitely be aware of. I wonder if this irritation occurs because it’s fragranced?

I can’t see how an eye cream needs to be scented, though the reason from Shiseido is that the ‘unique Asian orchid fragrance’ brings ultimate relaxation to your skin care regimen. Nope, not necessary, although admittedly, it does smell very nice.

The cream is a pale beige/pink, pearlescent colour. It’s rich and thick, but non greasy.

HOW I APPLY THE CREAM

The leaflet advises you to apply the cream morning and night, as the last step in your skin care regimen. There’s an extensive application routine to follow which involves gliding, tapping and blending the cream all around the eye area. I don’t do any of this, although I might start now, because I know this eye cream is THE ONE.

Using the tiny spatula supplied, I apply a few dots of cream under my eye starting from the outer corner (I don’t want the current baby crow’s feet to grow into honking great adult sized ones), working in and along, tapping it in gently on the orbital bone, stopping a third of the way from the inner corner.

REVIEW

I’m always surprised (and pleased) that there are still traces of the cream in the morning exactly where I applied it. It hasn’t completely melted into the skin. It’s not sticky, but by touch, you can feel it’s there – OK maybe that means it’s a tiny bit sticky.

The skin under my eyes and at the sides has definitely softened and feels much more hydrated, I was just starting to experience a little dryness which set me on the road to eye cream. I’ve also noticed enough of a softening of the fine lines to make me buy another jar.

I’m definitely going to wear it under make up and see how I get on. I applied it during the day yesterday without make up, and the slight pearlescence effect is very flattering on bare skin as it subtly catches the light.

HOW LONG DOES 15ML LAST?

I started using the cream (night-time only) at the beginning of October and it ran out at the end of February, so that’s 5 months’ use. I’m heavy-handed when it comes to moisturisers, but always use a light touch with eye care products.

OTHER REVIEWS

It feels very hydrating – a very creamy almost oily sensation when applied, and it takes around 5-10 minutes to soak in. I enjoy this feeling when my under eye area is feeling particularly dehydrated which it often is from working in constant air conditioning.

I’ve not noticed any anti ageing benefits, but it moisturises well and keeps my under eye area in good condition. It doesn’t cause me milia (unlike Kiehl’s Avocado Eye Cream).

I am not a fan of the slight fragrance this contains but can tolerate it. It’s not overpowering but is noticeable – and I can’t understand its purpose in a product that’s going near your eyes. I also prefer pump or tube packaging to tubs. Even if I use clean hands, dipping my finger into a tub kinda gives me the icks. USE THE SPATULA! Price wise this is a more expensive product.

I really enjoy Paula’s Choice Moisture Boost applied around my eyes as less luxurious but equally hydrating alternative – this has my preferred tube packaging also.

This is the best eye cream I have ever used and I have used it for many years. I started using it when I was working as an international airline stewardess, which really dehydrated my skin, and I have continued ever since. I have tried other products, but nothing as rich and comforting for my eyes. It leaves your eyes moisturised all day. My only criticism is that it is far too expensive after many price rises over the past few years.

As a fair-skinned lady prone to crows feet I have tried many eye creams over the years. I read about this in a magazine and tried it and find it brilliant. Have no desire to try another brand, this works.

MILIA WARNING

Sadly, this product gave me multiple milia bumps around my eyes after a week, and I decided to return it for that reason. Otherwise, I really liked this eye cream. I couldn’t wear makeup over it, as it stayed greasy and sticky for 12+ hours; I personally considered this a good thing, as it also kept my eyes from drying out overnight or during 12+ hour shifts.

Overall, I think this would have been a great cream for my dry, fine line-prone eyes had it not been for those darn milia!

THE (SLIGHTLY) OVER THE TOP REVIEW

Shiseido in my opinion is by far the best brand of skincare out there. I am 40yrs old and people often think I am in my 20’s! I have tried what are meant to be the best of the rest and always come back to Shiseido. This eye cream will keep you looking younger for longer. IN YOUR 20’S THOUGH…

SHOPPING INFO

My first jar came from Sephora in the US. I hear rumours they’re relaunching here soon, so fingers crossed. I bought my second jar from AllBeauty for £41.90 instead of the usual price of £55.00 and yes, it was new stock. AllBeauty aren’t always the cheapest and prices do fluctuate, but I’ve never had any duds from them.

AS A SIDE NOTE

I was at a Shiseido counter and the wonderful consultant let me play with the make up and skin care, even after admitting I would note down anything I was interested in and buy online. To be fair though, I will let her colour match a concealer for me and buy it from her counter – well, the first one at least.

However, the joke’s on me because she’s so knowledgable and pleasant (and about 40, so we bonded straightaway about ageing), I can see me going back and buying a few more products from her. That’s what’s missing from buying online, the personal touch and advice.

While I was there, a glamorous 50+ lady who appeared to be a regular, made a purchase and then barked: “And where are my samples?” I mouthed “How rude!” behind her back and then proceeded to slag her off after she left (as you do). Then, another similar woman (with better manners) appeared, and bought the same product, this all in the space of 5 minutes.

That product was Shiseido Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate in the 50ml size, which is about £70.00.

This concentrate enhances skin’s inherent multi-defensive power against signs of ageing, environmental factors and daily stress. Day by day, your skin becomes noticeably smoother and more resilient, making wrinkles less noticeable while your complexion appears to flow with more radiance than ever.

Applied before serum and moisturiser, it appears to work with the skin’s immune system. I can’t figure out how though, is it a booster? It was explained to me, but clearly went over my head. I must read up on it because those two women had incredible skin.

By the way, before I could politely ask for them, I was offered samples, foundation sponges and a fistful of IBUKI Smart Filtering Smoother – a primer, which I’m looking forward to trying out.

WAIT, I’VE NOT FINISHED!

I spotted this other Shiseido eye product online.

Mens Total Revitalizer Eye (15ml) £42.00

The lightweight texture provides anti-ageing properties by maintaining moisture and reducing the look of fine lines and wrinkles. It firms skin in a way similar to that of Hyaluronic Acid cosmetic injections.

WHAT? We want that too! Also, are men’s products in general always that bit cheaper?

Product Key Features

Shiseido Benefiance line is pretty decent and can be counted on. The eye treatment cream moisturized me but I found it a little too heavy for an eye cream. It is best used for me in the winter but not in the summer. The cream smooths on easily and will stay put overnight. I prefer to use it as a night eye cream rather than during the day because it will smudge with my make up. Also becasue I only use it in the winter, I found the cream cake up a little bit over the year and did not retain its smoothness, which is rather odd. Most of Shieido product will stay OK over a year, but I have problems with this particular jar. maybe it’s just my luck? The eye cream is not cheap and I do not think the higher price justify its results. With the same price, you can probably go with Kiehl’s or Clinique moisture surge eye treatment. Both are more moisturizing and lighter on the skin. Use it for night time only.

eyes look smooth instantly

I like the entire Shiseido anti-aging line. I started using the Shiseido Revitilizing eye cream several years ago since I noticed a few wrinkles around my eyes and underneath my eyes whenever I smile or cringe my forehead. The eye cream was recommended to me by my friend who works with Shiseido as she uses only Shiseido products. She insisted that it works immediately and you notice the wrinkles around your eyes smooth out almost instantly. At first I thought she was just trying to hardsell her products to me but I gave it a try. I didn’t notice immediate results because I didn’t put that much on, but after a couple of more attempts, I did notice that the wrinkles and lines where I applied the cream seemed to have smoothed out pretty well. I was amazed! As with most Shiseido products, the pricing is on the higher end but I think their products work really well. Their products work for all ages, skin types, and beauty preferences. They have products for the younger age group (20’s), to the middle age group (30’s-50’s) and for older men and women (50+). For the younger age group, their prices are fairly decent. I think the eye cream works for all ages and skin types. There were no side effects and the skin where the cream was applied did not become dry or itchy as I’ve noticed with most other eye creams. It’s also great with sensitive skin but there is probably a special cream for sensitive skin so you’d have to check.

A bottle of this cream gives instant results that are almost like magic with its instant lift technology. The special ingredient of this anti-aging cream is baobab extract. This ingredient is responsible for the immediate lift and instant forming of the skin around the eye. Like other anti-aging wrinkle creams using it after some time reduces wrinkles, eye bags, and dark circles. The consistency of the cream is silky smooth making it ideal for wear under makeup.

REVIEWS

Shisheido Benefiance Wrinkle Resist 24 Intensive Eye Contour is an amazing and high-quality product that delivers results. Most users who have spent days to weeks applying the cream to problem areas around the eyes have noticed an improvement in the firmness and texture of the skin. The eyes are an especially vulnerable spot when it comes to the formation of wrinkles because the skin around the eye area is thin and fragile. Nothing speaks more about the passage of time than wrinkles around the eyes. Most people can tun back time by using products like Shiseido Benefiance WrinkleResist24 eye cream to give them protection and remove years from their appearance. To stop premature signs of aging, wrinkles, dullness and haggard looking eyes it is advised that women take an eye contour treatment as earls as 25 years old.

  • People who have used this product for years reported having no wrinkles
  • Has a fine consistency that feels good and natural on the skin
  • Has high quality ingredients that delivers immediate results
  • An intensive eye cream especially formulated for the eye area

Here is summary of other quality online reviews:

  • Reduced wrinkle around the eyes due to using this product every night
  • A small amount of the cream can go a long way and can last up to six months
  • There is a noticeable difference after using the product only twice.
  • There is no greasy effect upon application. The effect is soft and dewy.
  • Moisturizes wrinkles and makes them less noticeable.
  • Three months of application greatly diminishes dark circles and eyebags since high school.
  • The eye cream goes well under make up
  • It has a perfect texture that has just the right thickness that hydrates the skin. It has a nice smell.
  • Great for dry sensitive skin since it keeps the areas around the eyes smooth and moisturized.

To be honest, I haven’t seen a super huge improvement in overall skin health in that particular area. I mean, any hydrating product could arguably be “anti-aging”, so I do believe that the stuff is helping my skin. Now, when I use this eye cream, my concealer does lay on nicely over top. However, it takes a bit of time to sink in, so I wouldn’t recommend applying makeup directly after using this stuff.

Now for all the anti-aging benefits it claims, and for the performance I’ve observed so far, I do believe the price point is justified. High-end eye creams tend to run in the $60-ish price point, so it doesn’t appall me there. However, if you can get a discount, such as Macy’s VIP 15% Off Sale or a sale of the like, then you should definitely go for it!

Benefiance WrinkleResist24 Pure Retinol Express Smoothing Eye Mask are quite lovely although they do contain alcohol and fragrance but thankfully I didn’t feel that addition of alcohol caused any dryness. I’ve only used one mask so far and I liked the results. They are a wet half moon sheet mask that fits comfortably under my eye all the way to the top of my cheek bone and up to outer v of my eye. I like how much space they cover as I have tried many Korean eye masks that are smaller in size and don’t cover such a wide area around my eye. They have created with a cotton fiber that’s saturated with the solution. You can place them under your eyes 15 to 20 minutes, remove, toss out, and pat your eyes gently for any excess essence to be absorbed fully. The one time I used the mask I felt like my eyes looked brighter and my eye cream absorbed more easily. I wish they were a little more affordable as I could see myself becoming addicted to these.

Shiseido Benefiance Wrinkle Repair Kit for Eyes Review

Shiseido Benefiance Wrinkle Repair Kit for Eyes1

Best $55 I’ve spent on myself recently? The Shiseido Benefiance Wrinkle Repair Kit for Eyes which includes a Benefiance WrinkleResist24 Intensive Eye Contour Cream and a four pack of Benefiance WrinkleResist24 Pure Retinol Express Smoothing Eye Masks.

This is one of those to me, from me gifts that I’m loving on at the moment.

Shiseido Benefiance Wrinkle Repair Kit for Eyes

Shiseido Benefiance Wrinkle Repair Kit for Eyes is a nice little value as it contains a full size Shiseido Benefiance WrinkleResist24 Intensive Eye Contour Cream which is 0.51 oz in size that would typically set you back $55.

As I mentioned above it also contains four eye masks, three masks are $17.50, and this set contains 4, so you’re saving around $23 or so making the set a value of around $78. If I do the math I just think of it as buying the eye cream and getting four eye masks for free.

Benefiance WrinkleResist24 Intensive Eye Contour Cream is one of my favorite night eye creams and I was running low so my mentality was I’d buy this set and get the free eye masks with it having never tried them before. Dontcha just love Holiday gift sets?

If you dislike fragrance in your eye creams I wouldn’t recommend it but if you don’t mind this has a lovely fresh, floral fragrance. It’s actually very, very rich and contains a nice dose of Vitamin E as well as sodium PCA which allows skin to retain moisture. It’s thick, very creamy, and almost greasy in consistency but it absorbs quickly before it has that chance to get greasy and leaves skin very, very soft and smooth. I have drier eyes and this does a great job of adding moisture. It does contain mineral oil though so keep that in mind prior to a purchase. In all the time I’ve used it I never felt like it minimized my lines but it has added much needed moisture under my eyes which in turn makes my finer lines look a heck of a lot better.

My take on Shiseido Benefiance Wrinkle Resist 24 Night Cream:

Firstly I would like to mention that I am in love with the packaging. The rose gold color makes it look so elegant and high end. Now coming to the texture of the cream, it is neither too thick nor watery, it’s just perfect. As soon as the cap of the container is opened, a sweet fragrance can be felt. Some people might dislike it but my mother liked it. The cream blends smoothly into the skin giving a cooling effect for few seconds. It makes the skin feel hydrated, even in the morning (after 6-7 hours after the application). The cream is easy to blend and thus only a small amount is required for the full face.

Now coming to the claims the company makes about the wrinkle part. When I asked my mom about this, initially after using it for two weeks, she said that she can feel that the cream is working, but now she is not very impressed with it. She likes the cream but the wrinkles are still there (of course there is no magic in the cream). I can’t say about her but I surly can see some difference in her face. Her skin seems more clear and little glowy. When I went through the ingredients and searched about those, I found some that can actually help in reducing wrinkles, but as it starts from the interiors, it might take some time.

Shiseido-Benefiancewrinkle-

Overall it is a good product with all the goodness in the ingredients, but has no magic and hence may take some time in accomplishing the task it is meant for.

Pros of Shiseido Benefiance Wrinkle Resist 24 Night Cream:

• Makes skin hydrated and smooth
• Only a little amount is required
• Easy to blend
• Have a pleasing fragrance (some might consider it as a con)
• Amazing packaging
• Ingredients are really good for skin

Cons of Shiseido Benefiance Wrinkle Resist 24 Night Cream:

Would I buy this product again?

We may buy it again but only if I can get it on discount.

Do I recommend this?

I am not sure about recommending it. It is an excellent product but is very costly.
