I bought this Mary Kay TimeWise product at the same time that I bought the moisturizer. I have been noticing that I have been getting bigger bags under my eyes than usual and I was looking for something that would help me fix that problem. This product from Mary Kay has helped this problem a lot. I put it on my eyes at night before bed and it really does firm up the skin under my eyes. I was impressed. It definitely was not a miracle cream or anything, but there was a marked difference in the bags after about a week of using it. The cream absorbs well and it is easy to apply. I use the tip of my finger. I use this with my TimeWise moisturizer at night and the two work together to really make my skin look younger. The eye firming cream brings down the swelling under my eyes and I love that. I would definitely recommend this eye firming cream for any woman that has issues with bags under their eyes.
Firming Eye Cream
I used to work for Mary Kay awhile back and this happened to be one of my favorite products by their company. Prior to using the product, I had a few under-eye issues such as darker circles, fine lines (from squinting so much), and just overall dull skin tone. I made it a personal goal to try various eye creams to find ones that I liked, including super expensive brands. When I became a Mary Kay rep, I decided to give the eye cream a try and I really liked it. It was super smooth, not too thick, and the bottle lasts for a long time because you only need a small dab each day. I used to put mine on at night, over a night cream. After using it for a few weeks, I noticed that some of my under eye problems were fading, my skin was a bit brighter in that area, the dark circles were fading, and the fine lines were diminishing. I certainly wouldn’t call this a miracle product, but it did help some of my under eye insecurities. One caution I would have against this product thought is to be weary for use on super sensitive skin. I have sensitive skin, and can use this product, but occasionally will get a slight under eye burning or tingling. Therefore, those with super sensitive skin should be careful or test the product first before buying.

Mary Kay is a brand that has been around for 50 years. But because of a less than positive reaction I experienced years ago after attending a Mary Kay party, I avoided the products. Even after my best friend became an Independent Beauty Consultant, I would not use the products. But that was over 25 years ago. Recently, I was offered the opportunity to review some of their newer products. After reading the information provided and asking some additional questions, I decided to give the brand another try. As I’ve mentioned, the aging time clock is ticking and I won’t go down without a fight.
In addition to aging, I suffer with seasonal allergies and oddly, the “season” seems to be getting longer. Mary Kay has recently released some new products that claim to help relieve some of the discomfort associated with seasonal allergies, such as puffy eyes, and dry skin.
I have always had oily to combination-oily, skin but lately I’ve noticed more dry patches and find lines across my forehead. What the heck?! So the first product I was interested to try was the Mary Kay Moisture-Renewing Gel Mask.

- Of course, one of my initial concerns was if this would aggravate my oily skin. But it is for dry to oily skin, dermatologist tested & oil-free.
- Because of my experience years ago, I did a patch test for a couple days, and after no adverse reaction, I was ready to go full on.
- It is recommending that this is used 2-3 times a week, so the first two applications, I tried the “10 minute then rinse method”. Since then I have been doing the “overnight” at least once a week. I love the cool, hydrating feel.
- Especially after the overnight use, the next morning my skin feels moisturized and I am seeing an improvement of the dryness and fine lines I was seeing on my forehead.

- The area around the eye is very delicate and needs to be treated as such. When I’m looking for an eye treatment, I look for a product that is gentle yet effective.
- I have been applying this eye cream before my other moisturizers. Once pplied, I use the gentle touch of my ring fingers to pat in the product.
- I apply it twice a day and have experienced increased hydration, reduction in the appearance of my fine lines and reduced puffiness in the under-eye area.
- I love the cool touch of the applicator. It too, allows for a gentle application. A little trick that I use is to store this product in the refrigerator so that when I apply it, I get an even more intense cool application.
That’s ok and all but you don’t want to pay extra for a glorified antioxidant.
What’s In Mary Kay Timewise Repair Volu-Firm Lifting Serum?
SILICONES TO FILL IN WRINKLES
I don’t hate on silicones.
For one, they don’t suffocate skin. They have a particular molecular structure with wide holes between each molecule, creating a protective barrier that still allows skin to perspire.
Plus, they do a lot of jobs: they make the serum easier to spread, give your skin a silky soft feel and fill in fine lines and wrinkles so they look smaller.
But they can’t lift, reduce wrinkles or anything of the sort. They don’t make your skin younger. They make it look younger.
That’s why I don’t mind silicones in serums with retinol, vitamin C and all that good antiaging stuff. But when a serum is high in silicones and low on antiaging goodies? Not a fan.
STEM CELLS TO… REJUVENATE SKIN?
Stem cells are really cool. They’re mother cells that can turn into any type of cell of the organism they belong too. They can then reproduce more of those cells.
An example? An apple stem cell can turn into an apple leaf or the branch of an apple tree. A human stem cell can turn into a liver or a kindney.
That doesn’t mean they’re totally useless. Stem cells are antioxidants. Simple as that. Together with the other antioxidants in here (green tea and vitamin E, to name a few), they help prevent premature wrinkles.
That’s ok and all but you don’t want to pay extra for a glorified antioxidant.
TRIPEPTIDE-1 TO FIRM SKIN
Tripeptide-1 is the most exciting ingredient here. It’s a signal peptide that works with copper in your skin.
Collagen is the protein that keeps skin firm so it makes sense that using copper peptides can keep your skin firm. Keep’s the key word here: once your skin has sagged, there’s not much this peptide can do for you.
What it can do is make your skin heal faster, make its texture softer and smoother and prevent further damage.
IRRITANTS TO MAKE IT SMELL GOOD
My other problem with Mary Kay Timewise Repair Volu-Firm Lifting Serum? It’s loaded with irritants.
Menthol, lavender, citrus extracts... That’s all stuff that smells good but… it’s also irritating.
Let’s be clear: this serum didn’t irritate my skin. But then, almost nothing does. My skin is resistant like that.
But if you experience any tingling while you use it, stop. That’s not a sign the serum’s working. It’s a cue it’s irritating your skin.
