L’Oreal Revitalift Anti-Wrinkle and Firming Eye Cream Reviews

I’ve been trying my hands on a couple of wrinkle creams, but the one that I’m quite impressed with and is now a staple in my beauty regimen is the L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Day Cream and Eye Cream. L’Oreal has always been my favorite brand, from their product quality to scientific innovation, Loreal is definitely a leader in the beauty industry and has earned a reputable place for them. The best part is the affordability of such high-quality products that have been made accessible to all.

L’Oreal Revitalift Anti-Wrinkle and Firming Eye Cream Reviews

L

We’ve all had this question pondering in us from our early 20’s, when do we start using a wrinkle cream? or start using a wrinkle treatment?. As per skin experts in your late 20s to mid – 30s, you enter a pre-aging stage.

At this stage, you might start to notice little lines around your eyes and corners of your mouth, from dark spots to dryness initially caused by sun damage. Though all this may be concerning to you if you’re at your mid-30s, there’s no need to worry, there are so many wrinkle treatments out there that can help, as long as your using the right products.

I’ve been trying my hands on a couple of wrinkle creams, but the one that I’m quite impressed with and is now a staple in my beauty regimen is the L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Day Cream and Eye Cream. L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Moisturising Day Cream
Anti-wrinkle + Extra Firming

Innovation
After more than 10 years of research, L’Oreal has identified the existence of 8 natural lifters deep within the skin, which helps skin look youthful, firm and wrinkle free.

As we age, their production may slow down so they no longer ensure the skin’s natural plumping action: wrinkles settle, skin loses its firmness.

Dermalift Technology
This boosts the production of skin’s natural lifters to plump your skin from within for a natural lifting and firming effect.

Pro-Retinol A
A powerful anti-wrinkle ingredient, known to stimulate skin cell renewal.

Both the products were of excellent quality with great packaging! The Day cream worked wonders on me by instantly firming the skin and fading visible lines! the cream is non-greasy rich and smooth, a perfect moisturizer for day time which is an anti aging treatment, a 2 in 1 deal! this is ideal for your busy mornings and not having to worry about your wrinkles, the product takes care of your skin.

The eye cream was perfect! it smoothened out the lines around my eye lid and reduced the puffiness on my eye bags and helped firm the skin around my eyes! It’s a wonder cream!

As mentioned earlier there is no doubt that L’Oreal products are great, innovative products with an affordable price of each retailing to 56.75 AED each, for the day cream and the eye cream.

Note – there is also the L’Oreal Revitalift Night Cream, which I haven’t tried yet if you have let me know how the cream worked for you? Comment below.

The product comes in an easy to use 15ml, screw top pot. Kinda small for the price, but not outside the boundary for a superior product.

I have sensitive skin and this product caused some itching and slight redness around my eyes. Others with less sensitive skin may have better results. I didn’t notice any plumping or wrinkle reducing effect.

I got his eye cream in the last vault. I love L’Oreal products so was very happy to get it. I liked that it got great reviews as well.

The product comes in an easy to use 15ml, screw top pot. Kinda small for the price, but not outside the boundary for a superior product.

LIke the night cream I’m using it with, it is very reminiscent of Ponds cream and has the exact same scent. If it came in a plain pot I would swear to God it was Ponds. And I used Ponds for years and loved it, so it’s a compliment to say that.

I’ve been using it every morning and evening and I like the feel. It is soothing and hydrating. Oddly for my age, I don’t have lines under my eyes but do have puffiness at times. This product does appear to reduce that puffiness. Based on that, I can say it does do what it says it will do.

Do I think it’s a superior product that justifies the price? yes I do. There are a lot of eye creams around and I think this, while not the best I’ve used, it in the top three. That’s pretty good. I do recommend trying it, particularly if, like me, you like a nice thick, cooling, hydrating eye cream.

Tips: Apply to clean skin morning and night, patting gently around the eye area with fingertips.

Personally I did not see any results from using this cream. It’s thick so a little goes a long way. It doesn’t have much of a scent. I picked it up for cheap online and was hoping it would at least brighten my eye area or something nice but no definetely does not lift or firm the eye area. I reused the little container to put one of my broken lipsticks into it.

I really liked this eye cream – it was quite thick but easy to apply and easily absorbed. I used in conjunction with Revitalift night cream to difficult to determine if my skin felt great because of eye cream or moisturiser.

Tips: Use with Loreal Revitalift Eye cream.

I was excited to see how this would live up to its claims. Unfortunately for me I did not experience all the claimed benefits of using this eye cream alongside the day and night set. It was an easy cream to apply. Nice and light and easily absorbed. It did feel a quite moisturizing on my eyes without being greasy. So I would say it did hydrate my eye area. Unfortunately, as to its claims of reducing crows feet and wrinkles I am unsure. It may be due to not suing for long enough or just not be the case at all. Overall I was happy to use the eye cream for the benefits of hydration but would not say this is a miracle anti-wrinkle cream.

A cute little container that stacks well with the others saving space on my dresser, which is a good thing. I found the eye cream was eye to use and a little went a very long way, but for some reason my eye area was a little more sensitive and reacted slightly to the cream, just a little itchy and irritated was all.

I did Appreciate that it was not as fragrant as the day and night creams in this range which I found a little overpowering. The creams did seem to complement each other but I did stop using the eye cream due to the irritation. I will give it another try at a later date to see if I have the same slight reaction or not. Because I did not use the cream for the duration I cannot speak to how effective it was in doing what it said it would do and this is why I have rated it low in this area and in whether I’d use it again. I would recommend trying it to friends as just because it wasn’t a good fit for me doesn’t mean it wouldn’t be a good fit for others wanting to try an eye cream.

Oh that’s a shame about the irritiation!

Another cream I was very excited to try! It came in a small pot which I thought was the perfect size and instructions that were easy to follow. The cream was a very nice consistancy and you only need to use such a tiny amount so I think this would be value for money. Unfortunately my eyes don’t seem to like this as every time I put it on I would wake with very itchy eyes, I would test it by not using it and didn’t wake with itchy eyes so its defiantly the cream. I would actually recommend this to a friend but if you have sensitive skin I would be wary first.

Tips: Try a small amount on first and see how it goes, I got itchy eyes from it!

I have flirted with several different eye creams over the years. It has always been one of those things I buy, use for three days and then lose in my drawer. Not this time though. The people at Beauty Review needed me. So true to my word I have used the L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Eye Cream every day for the past month and while I haven’t noticed a reduction in wrinkles or crows feet I have enjoyed having hydrated eyelids. This cream made my eyes feel more supple and look brighter, and in a way made me believe I was warding off the aging process one blob of cream at a time. Immediately after use, the skin around my eyes feels softer and smoother. It comes in a very small package (they say all the best things do) and you only need a tiny bit for it to do its magic. This cream isn’t as thick as the others in the Revitalift range but it still feels pretty rich. There is little to no scent which is a positive in my book. I would recommend this cream to others, and will be buying another jar once the time comes.

I was super excited when I was picked for this review – been using good old faithful products that I reviewed a few years ago and thought this would give me the option to find something new – This regime consisted of: L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Day Cream SPF 15 LOréal Paris Revitalift Night Cream & LOréal Paris Revitalift Eye Cream. Great looking set of these products arrived in nice looking boxes. The day cream has a nice peach colour to it and not to heavy for day wear. The night cream consist of a rich white cream that spreads easily over the face, and I used eye cream sparingly because it is quite thick compared to other eye creams I have used in the past. No overwhelming fragrance that suited me just fine. I did not have to use much of any of these creams as it spread easily onto the face and neck.

I have been using the product close on 3 weeks and still it I have only used a little bit – think these will last for quite a long time and I think it will be good value for the price. Its is pretty affordable as long as you don’t go out and buy them all at once. The pretty simple and I liked the presentation – unfortunately again packaging goes to waste (outer packaging) – the white containers easily fit on my dresser. I think that using the products for longer will help to reach its full potential, I don’t think it can be reached in only a few weeks – its not a miracle cream that have made my wrinkles magically disappear unfortunately but I’m still holding out for a miracle 🙂

Unfortunately, despite the brands enormous presence in the beauty industry, L’Oreal’s moisturizers and treatment products are a nearly all unremarkable and repetitive. When it comes to moisturizers or serums, just about anything from Dove, Olay, Neutrogena, or Aveeno is preferred. L’Oreal does well with most of their cleansers, along with scrubs and self-tanning products, but given the widespread availability and financial resources of this line, they could be doing so much more. The good news is their makeup has made major strides and now ranks as the best overall color collection at the drugstoreimagine the results if their skin care followed suit.

Revitalift Anti-Wrinkle Firming Eye Cream

Revitalift Anti-Wrinkle Firming Eye Cream is a water- and silicone-based moisturizer for normal to dry skin anywhere on the face. It is fragrance-free, as claimed. The tiny amount of vitamin A is the only antioxidant, though jar packaging won’t keep it stable. Of course, nothing in this product will lift skin or reduce puffy eyes.

Dramatically smoothes lines and surface wrinkles in just 2 weeks, firms skin within six hours, reduces the “morning puffy look” with no greasy after-feel and is dermatologically tested, ophthalmologist tested, safe for contact lens wearers and fragrance free.

L’Oreal Paris At-A-Glance

Strengths: Budget-friendly prices; good makeup removers; wide assortment of self-tanning options; one of the best, most comprehensive makeup collections at the drugstore, with superb options in almost every category; the mascaras are a tough act to follow.

Weaknesses: Jar packaging hinders some of the skincare formulas; many of their skincare formulas contain problematic amounts of fragrance and/or other irritants; exaggerated anti-aging claims.

L’Oreal’s extensive makeup collection retains its stature as one of the better selections at the drugstore, though they have stiff competition from Revlon and, in some cases, sister company Maybelline New York. In recent years L’Oreal has made significant strides with foundation shades, powder textures, concealers, and, of course, superlative mascaras that rarely fail to impress. Their lipsticks are excellent and you will find many L’Oreal makeup products have a Lancome counterpart, and that the differences are minorif there are any at all.

L’Oreal’s displays in many drugstores reflect better-organized products and shade categories (though testers are still scarce). Given the number of lipsticks they sell, it only makes sense to put them in color families so consumers have a better shopping experience. Their True Match products are also sensibly laid out, but the rest of the foundations aren’t as organized, likely due to the smaller selection of shades. Speaking of foundations, L’Oreal has made further strides by offering more that provide sufficient UVA protection. Revlon still has the edge for consistently launching impressive foundations with sunscreen, but at least L’Oreal is (finally) catching up.

The bottom line is that every category of L’Oreals makeup has some winning (and in some cases, benchmark-setting) products.

L’Oreal Revitalift Anti-Wrinkle + Firming Eye Cream: A highly emollient formula with Shorea Robusta Butter.
Despite its emollient nature, it actually feels nice, light and comfortable going on the skin. The cream has a light, creamy texture that didn’t weigh my skin down, and absorbed very fast. The nice and silky texture of the cream also means that it works well under eye makeup, too. Overall, I found this to be a very aesthetically elegantly formulated eye cream, that still provides a good deal of hydration. I actually really liked this – I felt it balanced the need to moisturize my eye area with my preferences for being light enough to wear under makeup. I passed this on to my mum after my trial period (because, again, I’m not quite part of the anti-aging market just yet, although I’ll get there sooner than I wish, I’m sure!), and so far, my mum likes it.

Loreal revitalift anti wrinkle and firming eye cream reviews

L’Oreal has reformulated its Revitalift Anti-Wrinkle line, which is one of the most recognizable and reknown brands of anti-aging products on the market. Now, with new packaging and a new formula, I thought it was worth paying this range a visit again! According to L’Oreal, the newer formulation of the Revitalift range includes Centella Asiatica extract, which is renowned for its repairing properties.

L’Oreal Revitalift Anti-Wrinkle range: Essence, Eye Cream, and Night Cream

There is indeed some evidence that Centella Asiatica extract, when used topically, has the potential to heal wounds by stimulating collagen synthesis and angiogenesis. So, I was intrigued and definitely keen to know more. For this review, I’m looking at three products – the Revitalift Intensive Repair Essence, Revitalift Anti-Wrinkle + Firming Eye Cream, and Revitalift Anti-Wrinkle + Firming Night Cream. Let’s go through these products, take a look at their ingredients, and see how I fared with them!

First up, the Revitalift Intensive Repair Essence. This is one of the pricier products in this line, and I like that it is packed in a hygienic dropper bottle. Next to tube and pump packaging, droppers are also one of my more preferred methods of packaging.

Revitalift Intensive Repair Essence: Looking luxe in a nice red bottle.

The formulation of the Intensive Repair Essence is pretty interesting. While there is indeed Centella Asiatica extract in the Intensive Repair Essence, one of the things I noted that was the presence of Bifida Ferment Lysate. Now if this sounds familiar, it’s because I previously looked at Lancôme Advanced Génifique Youth Activator, which had the Lysate as a main ingredient, and also wrote a bit about Bifida Ferment Lysate and how it works in skincare. Basically, L’Oreal’s research has shown that Bifida Ferment Lysate, when applied to skin in a cream of 10%, helped improve skin barrier function, and hydration, although outside of L’Oreal’s own research, I haven’t seen any other studies validating this result. So there you go – not only do you get Centella Asiatica extract, you also get a boost with Bifida Ferment Lysate. Interestingly, I thought the formulations of both the Lancôme Advanced Génifique Youth Activator and the L’Oreal Revitalift Intensive Repair Essence were somewhat similar, so I imagine that if one works for you, you’d probably like the other as well. I imagine that with both the Bifida Ferment Lysate and the Centella Asiatica extract, usage over the long run should yield some results on the skin.

Essence - ingredients

Revitalift Intensive Repair Essence: Both Centella Asiatica Extract and Bifida Ferment Lysate give the ingredients list some interest.
As far as application goes, the Revitalift Intensive Repair Essence was excellent. It was light, silky, and it sinks in fast. It isn’t really a watery, lotion-type essence, nor is it a silicone-y, nor is it a gel-like liquid. I’d say its somewhere in between, and it has a very nice texture that I really liked. This went on my skin very nicely, and also works easily under any other product, be it another Revitalift product or not. Overall, I liked that it absorbs quickly, has a nice and smooth skinfeel, and no residue or silicone-y feel that made it hard to deal with. So far for the month or so I’ve had this, I felt like it did help my skin to feel smoother and better overall. I’m not really at the age to evaluate its anti-aging properties, but I passed it on to my mum to try, and she loves it. So it must be doing something right.

Would I recommend this? If you liked the Lancôme Advanced Génifique Youth Activator and are looking for something cheaper, then this would fit the bill very nicely – no surprise there, since Lancôme is owned by L’Oreal group after all. I think the two serums are largely similar, with some minor differences – for example, the L’Oreal version as Centella Asiatica Extract for anti-aging benefits, while the Lancôme version has also added a form of Vitamin C (Ascorbyl Glucoside) for anti-oxidant and anti-aging benefits, as well as Hylauronic Acid (here in the form of Sodium Hyaluronate) for extra moisture. So preferences will vary, but either one would probably work for you.

Next, the Revitalift Anti-Wrinkle + Firming Eye Cream. This is in a jar, and you get the standard 15ml of product inside.

Loreal Revitalift Anti Wrinkle Eye Cream

L’oreal Revitalift Anti-Wrinkle + Firming Eye Cream: 15ml of eye cream in the jar.
From a formulation perspective, this is also a pretty interesting product. There’s water, glycerin (humectant), as well as a couple of silicones and polymers for a better texture and also as emollients (Dimethicone and C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate). After that, you get Shorea Robusta Butter/Seed Butter, which is from the Shala tree. This ingredient is pretty new to me, and I haven’t yet come across any other eye cream with this ingredient, despite my years of being a beauty junkie and my obsessive reading of ingredients list. So the inclusion of the Shorea Robusta Butter/Seed Butter was interesting to me. From the looks of it, the Shorea Robusta Butter/Seed Butter is quite similar to cocoa butter, as well as other oils, such as mango kernel, so it would be a good emollient moisturizer similar in feel to cocoa butter. This is paired with other fatty acids to further provide some emollient function to the skin, such as stearic acid, palmitic acid, and so on. All in all, this has very strong emollient properties, which is good for an anti-wrinkle cream; after all, a large cause of eye wrinkles is simply plain ol’ skin dryness. There is also Centella Asiatica extract in the eye cream, of course.

L’Oreal Revitalift Anti-Wrinkle + Firming Eye Cream: A light texture that sinks fast into skin and also works under makeup.
Next, we have the Revitalift Anti-Wrinkle + Firming Night Cream. This is also packaged in a jar, and probably the thickest-textured of all the products in the range.

Loreal Revitalift Anti Wrinkle Night Cream

Revitalift Anti-Wrinkle + Firming Night Cream: One of the highlights of the Revitalift range.
From a formulation perspective, this is a good all-around cream, with humectants such as Glycerin, emollients such as Hydrogenated Polyisobutene and Cetyl Alcohol – which contrary to popular belief, won’t dry out your skin just because it has the word “alcohol” in its name. Cetyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol, and a few others are actually fatty acids with a waxy feel, so they are actually moisturizing to the skin. Glyceryl Stearate and PEG-40 Stearate do double duty as a skin conditioning agent and emulsifier so your product doesn’t separate. There are also plant oils, such as Apricot Kernel Oil and the Shorea Robusta Butter/Seed Butter, as well as Centella Asiatica extract. So for the most part, you’re getting a cream that is heavy on the humectants and emollients, which is good if you have dry skin, and is also, again, useful for anti-aging products. The Centella Asiatica extract is also a bonus.

Night cream - ingredients

Revitalift Anti-Wrinkle + Firming Night Cream: A formula that has humectants and plenty of emollients to moisturize skin.
When I used this cream, I found that its thick texture was almost like a balm. After all the light, easy textures of the eye cream and essence, I was expecting something similar, but this is thicker. Still, it feels nice on skin, with a texture that is luxurious but not needlessly thick or heavy, and yet still fast-absorbing. This is a night cream, but I personally feel the texture is suited for day use, as well, if you are so inclined. I certainly think it worked well under makeup.

Loreal Revitalift Anti Wrinkle Night Cream swatch

Revitalift Anti-Wrinkle + Firming Night Cream: Despite the thick texture, this absorbs fast and works well under makeup, too.
All in all, I felt the entire range was one that is best suited for people with dry skin, who are looking for products tha do a good job of hydrating and moisturizing the skin, without feeling too weighty or heavy. The formulation of the new Revitalift line also has some interesting unique ingredients that you don’t see often in drugstore skincare, namely the Centella Asiatica extract, as well as the Shorea Robusta Butter/Seed Butter. For the most part, the Shorea Robusta Butter/Seed Butter seems to be there in fairly decent amounts (enough, I’d guess, to be effective in the formulation), and the Centella Asiatica extract is there in much lower amounts – although I do note that in the review of literature on Centella Asiatica extract, it seems that even at pretty low concentrations (0.2% and 0.4% in some studies), there is still some effect shown when used topically, so I’d wager that over the long run, you’d still see some effect from the product.

A bonus is that of the products are fairly affordably priced, with the products ranging from S$29.90 for the Eye Cream to S$32.90 for the Night Cream. Only the Essence is more pricey, at S$45.90. Certainly these are not the cheapest, but they aren’t ripoff prices, either – if you walk into a chichi shopping mall, you can bet that you can probably end up spending double the price on products that are almost identically formulated. I imagine if you’re looking for something fairly affordable, have dry skin that results in fine lines appearing on your face, and are curious to try a product with some unique ingredients that could help to boost collagen synthesis in your skin, then the new Revitalift range would be worth checking out.
