MY EXPERIENCE
As expected of a luxury brand like Dior, the packaging of the product is very appealing and looks extremely beautiful. The serum lotion comes in a pump bottle and is very light weight. It should be applied twice daily after washing face and neck with water. It absorbs readily and can be layered with makeup or sunscreen. It is non- oily which is really great for people with oily or combination skin like me. I started noticing a visible change after two days of use with my skin looking more radiant and tighter. The serum has a slight floral scent which was a bit annoying for me in the beginning but after a few days it stopped bothering me too much.
I also noticed a change in skin hydration after three weeks of use. My skin looks more hydrated and supple now. I don’t see nay changes in pigmentation or fine lines but overall a visible change is noticed.
VERDICT
- The serum is lightweight which makes it ideal for both day and night time use.
- I have a very sensitive skin and have to be very cautious when trying out new products. But I had no signs of discomfort or itching when using it.
- The lotion has a light scent which is not that overwhelming but, I would still have loved it more if it was scent-less.
- The entire Capture Totale Series by Dior is priced on a higher end but I would still use and recommend it since it does exactly what the company claims.

Is it transfer proof?
I have to say, I am a huge fan of this foundation. I am very partial to a serum foundation, and absolutely love the Clinique Even Better Clinical Serum Foundation.
I think this new Dior one is fairly similar to this, however, it is slightly more on the dewy side than the Clinique
How does it compare to other Dior foundations?
I really love Dior foundations. I think Dior do the skin and complexion category exceptionally well. I’d say the texture and feel of this foundation is quite close to the Dior Forever Natural Nude foundation, which was my favourite from my Dior collection.
It has a more luminous, translucent finish than Nude, yet still delivers flawlessness. Keep reading for more comparisons between the two.
What skin types is it suitable for?
With all the anti-ageing benefits of the serum technology in the foundation, I’d say this is very well suited to more mature skin types like mine.
It is also super hydrating so it will be great for dry skins. I am combination – oily-ish t-zone with dehydration elsewhere – and it works really well on me. When the weather has been warmer, I have lightly set it with powder, but I don’t think I will find this always necessary.
As Dior Capture Totale Super Potent Serum Foundation has SPF20, I think this could become a staple for the colder months, particularly as it is so hydrating.
How to apply it?
I have been loving using a buffing brush to apply the Dior Capture Totale Super Potent Serum Foundation. In particular, I love using it the It Cosmetics Love Is The Foundation* brush with it.
What coverage does the Dior Capture Totale Super Potent Serum Foundation give?
This foundation gives a very natural looking medium coverage that is very skin perfecting, without looking like have anything on your skin at all. To me, it is even more invisible on the skin than Forever Nude.
Does Dior Capture Totale Super Potent Serum Foundation have a fragrance?
I find that this formula doesn’t have a distinct fragrance at all. I compared it to the fragrance of Forever Nude, which does have a noticeable fragrance, and the new Capture Totale smells of nothing in comparison.
What is the finish?
It has a beautiful dewy, almost translucent finish that is still very skin perfecting. As I said earlier, it just doesn’t look like I have anything on my skin.
Compared side by side with Forever Nude, it is glossier (in a good way) and more luminous, and it stays that way as it dries down. The Nude settles into more of a radiant matte finish within the same time period.
Once set, the Capture Totale is super light to the touch, just like skincare, whereas the Nude feels thicker, (although not heavy) on the skin. When I rub the Nude swatch it feels like foundation, but when I rub the Capture Totale swatch, it feels like skincare. I hope that’s a helpful observation!
It is really hydrating and plumping, and I find it super flattering on my skin type. And as I keep saying, it looks like I have nothing on.
Is it long lasting?
Considering how light and luminous the Dior Capture Totale Super Potent Serum Foundation formula is, it is impressively long-lasting. When I take my makeup off at the end of the day, I find my complexion is still pretty flawless.
Does it oxidise?
I have found that my shade 2N stays very true on my skin.
What is the texture like?
It has a lovely creamy yet light, almost bouncy texture that blends seamlessly into the skin, much like the Forever Natural Nude.
Is it transfer proof?
I have worn a mask with this foundation quite a few times and I have found the transfer to be minimal.
