Medik8 Hydr8 B5

Been using Medik8 since I got acne and redness on my face. It absorbs quickly and really hydrates my skin. Highly recommend it. It does smooth my skin and improve skin texture. This is a serum that I see a clear difference result after using it.

Best products

I love the whole range. amazing!! Worth every cent. My skin is never better when I'm using it. Highly recommended it. I instantly felt good results, my skin is clearer, smooth and brighter. I find I don't get breakouts with this brand and if I stop using it my skin goes bad. ( breakouts, dull & dry) Hope this review helps someone who is unsure about spending the $ on it.

Good hydration for the face

I bought this a few months ago and I have been using it when I feel that my skin needs additional hydration or when I don’t drink enough water. I feel like it’s doing what is supposed to. I love medik8

Purchased in November 2018 at Adore Beauty for $70 .

Perfect.

I love this product, it absorbs quickly and never leaves you feeling greasy even in Summer. Sometimes I find that a moisturiser too heavy gives me a breakout but with this I can put on layer after layer and that never happens.

Buy it – you won't regret it.

Lovely product

My skin usually feels claustrophobic under creams etc. However not with Medik8. My skin feels amazing. I have even started getting compliments on my skin. Which has given me the confidence to leave the house without makeup. Except mascara, I cannot live without mascara

Best skin hydrator

I got a sample of the SkinCeuticals B5 serum and I like the impact that it had on the areas of my face that are prone to flaking, but I wanted to see if I could find a cheaper alternative so I gave the Medik8 one a try. I've been using it for a few months now and I actually like it better than SC because I feel it does a better job at hydrating my skin to the point where I sometimes don't even need to apply moisturiser. If you're currently using SC, save your money and give Medik8 a try!

I have had dry flaky skin forever. I started using this product only a week ago and no longer have any dryness or flaky areas. My skin is soft to touch and feels hydrated from the inside. Bravo Medik8. Bravo..

Pantothenic Acid is also a powerful anti-inflammatory and an anti-itching active, helping to soothe stressed irritated skin.

Hydr8 B5 also utilises the power of Hyaluronic Acid, which is capable of holding up to 1000x its own weight in water and hence helps to restore critical moisture to dehydrated skin, increase skin’s suppleness and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. This clear, oil-free gel transforms your skin by rebalancing its moisture levels and maintaining hydration for up to 24 hours. Hydr8 B5 absorbs immediately, leaving skin feeling silky smooth and entirely quenched with moisture. – Pantothenic Acid also assists in fighting acne-associated infections by helping to build up antibodies
– Shows a unique ability to enhance the penetrating potential of the active ingredients from the follow-up products
– Improves the skin’s resistance to stress as well as protects the skin from environmental damage .

Size: 30 ml

What is The Medik8 Hydr8 B5 Intense?

Medik8 Hydr8 B5 Intense

When I discovered the Medik8 Hydr8 B5 serum I knew I had to get my hands on it. This moisturizing serum contains multi-weight hyaluronic acid that draws and binds water from the atmosphere and right into the skin.

This ingredient is known for holding up to 1,000 times its own weight in water, making it easy to be absorbed by the skin and remain moisturized from the surface down to the deepest layers.

Additionally, it is enriched with vitamin B5 that strengthens the skin’s water retention and regeneration.

The skin is left plump and well hydrated, and I can almost swear that the superficial lines around my eyes looked visibly smaller after a few days of using it.

But hold on a second!

Medik8 came up with a supercharged version of this “natural filler” as I like to call it. The Hydr8 B5 Intense is the big sister of the Hydr8 B5.

And she is a force to be reckoned the way I see it.

Harnessed with all the hydrating superpowers of their original bestseller but with added triple-action hydration booster, this serum recharges and replenishes the skin’s internal moisture source.

Did you know that hyaluronic acid is a natural component we all have in our bodies?

The Hydr8 B5 Intense blocks the breakdown and helps to kickstart the natural production of hyaluronic acid in the skin. It delivers immediate and long-term hydration for a boost of moisture infusion throughout the entire day.

Medik8 describes Hydr8 B5 Intense as:

Medik8 Hydr8 B5 Intense Review

If you have been reading my blog for any length of time you’ll know that I think hydration is really important in a skincare routine. As we age our skin becomes drier as it can’t replenish the oils as it used to, combine that with the degradation of collagen and we get saggy wrinkled skin.

That’s where Medik8 Hydr8 B5 Intense (30ml – £55) it contains hyaluronic acid, an absolute wonder ingredient that helps to plump and smooth out the skin.

Medik8 describes Hydr8 B5 Intense as:

helping to kickstart the natural production of hyaluronic acid in the skin. Hydr8 B5 Intense blocks its breakdown and works in conjunction with hyaluronic acid to deliver immediate and long-term hydration for all-day moisture. The lightweight serum is intensified with Natural Moisturising Factors (NMF), which make up the skin’s integral hydration system; grabbing onto moisture for supple and nourished skin. Hydr8 B5 Intense gives your skin the power to withstand dehydrating changes in temperature and humidity, leaving the complexion showered in moisture.

When I first used it I was really sceptical, I even put up first impressions on my Instagram saying I wasn’t impressed as it was rather expensive for what it did but now having tried it for quite some time I’m actually pretty impressed at how well its formulated. I really like using this with retinoids because it helps to stave off the dry peeling that can often happen with a high strength retinoid like Adapalene.

Ingredients:

A few key ingredients in this formula are Biosaccharide gum which works in conjunction with hyaluronic acid to deliver immediate and long-term hydration. Purple-hued superfood Saskatoon berry helps to fight the enzymes that break down hyaluronic acid within the skin, preserving its moisture-boosting power. Multiweight Hyaluronic Acid which has a unique ability to attract and retain more than 1,000 times its own weight in water, hyaluronic acid can draw moisture from the surrounding atmosphere into the skin, leaving the complexion both nourished and supple. Glyceryl Glucoside which helps to stimulate the aquaporin channels in the skin that act as hydration tunnels through which water and glycerin can circulate for the correct water balance throughout the skin layers.

Overall I feel like a good hyaluronic acid serum is key in a skincare routine as its one of the very few products that are going to give you instant results in terms of plumping and smoothing out the skin. In my opinion, Medik8 Hydr8 is a really well thought out product and in comparison to the price of other high-quality hyaluronic acid serums like
Dr Dennis Gross Hyaluronic Marine Hydration Booster is £69 for 30ml, NIOD MMHC which is £38 for 30ml and Pestle and Mortar Pure Hyaluronic Serum is £39 for 30ml.
