Beware of this product; three months ago, I applied Capsaicin Topical crème on my elbow because of minor pain due to arthritis along with stiffness and hours later my elbow started to inflame. That night I could hardly sleep since I was in excruciating pain and almost went to the Emergency Room. To this day, three months after applying one application of this product, my elbow is still slightly swollen with continued pain. Over the past three months, I’ve gone to two doctors to help treat my elbow including several acupuncture treatments. The first 30 days after using this product, I needed to keep my arm in a sling for hours at a time, since I was unable to use my arm and the pain was too great. As a result, I have also suffered frozen shoulder on my left side, which I continue to experience. I believe the branding of this product is inaccurate and should taken off the shelves of all locations where it’s being sold. As for myself, I pray that someday my elbow feels the same as before I apply this horrific product on my arm. As for others. I recommend you stay away from Capsaicin Topical crème, as the risk is too great.

I have experienced nerve and associated pain in my neck for several months and found little or no relief from various drugs. After using the Zostrix Maximum Strength cream for several days the pain is gone and the nerve “tingling” has also stopped. I think this cream is a life saver and would recommend it to anyone with nerve and/or muscle pains. I have also used it on my feet and legs with good results. The only caution I would note is to be SURE you wash your hands thoroughly so you don’t get this cream on your face.

You should wear latex gloves, put a tiny amount on your effected area and build it up gradually , Its a psychological tactic it distracts you from the original pain, and makes you think of the burning pain n tingling so it makes you forget about your original pain. So it works that way but its definitely not stopping my bulging discs hitting the nerves on my spine.

Definitely should be a warning label on this stuff. I looked up treatments for Peripheral Neuropathy and found this stuff listed. I guess I should have looked further into it, but I didn’t see anything that would have indicated it would burn as bad as it did. My mother has Peripheral Neuropathy, and I bought this to treat her, it seemed to help her at first, but after I applied it to all the areas, she started screaming in pain and it kept getting worse. I tried wiping it off, washing it off, and she soaked in the tub. It started burning the back of my hand from when I applied it. We tried rubbing alcohol, milk, baking soda, gold bond, calamine lotion, biofreeze, on the back of my hand to see if any of it helped before I tried any of the solutions on her. I determined alcohol seemed best at least temporarily. I tried using dish soap, that seemed to work pretty well, still burned, but not as bad, so we used it on her as well. Needless to say it did not work and I will be seeking a refund. I’d gladly take the money loss for this to have not happened at all though.

Horrible! Do not apply this to your body. Intense burning. Clean with Dawn detergent if burning occurs and repeat cleansing. Sweating reactivates it. Cortisone cream does not touch the intense burning. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!

This topical should come with a very strong warning. Although it did wonders for my paresthesia, it also burned the area around it. It felt as though the inside of my leg was burnt. Sun burn under the skin. Very, very, painful. No one should use the topical without having knowledge of its potential side affects. Do not use a lot, and make sure it’s no where near any tender skin on your body. I give it 4 stars for helping the paresthesia, but less stars for warning labels.

I bought Capsiacin in a cream for nerve pain in my arm. I understand the heat the other reviewers describe, but that for me was a good feeling as was the reduction in pain. It was the side effect of Vertigo which proved the most horrific experience, hospitialised not knowing what had caused the acute Vertigo. 10 days later, I was back to normal after no capsaicin, then a mild dose and back it came.

I applied to upper right thigh. Went to bed and 20 minites later on fire. Debating going to the emergency room as I have flushed and washed with mild dish doap as box states, have tried cooking oil and ice packs only work for 5 minutes. Leg is red like severe sunburn x 80 % pain. Just laying with legs touching caused my other inner thight to react now too. Worst burning pain. Feels like my skin is going to melt off.

I have Diabetic Foot Neuropathy & used disposable gloves to apply to my feet at night in bed. I have tried to use both strenght zostric creams. So have reviewed both. The 0.025% Cream: Allows me to get SOME sleep now – but everything lightly burns the next day. It seems to come out as light burning in my face, back, arms (Sweat Glands). Which isn’t a real big problem unless I rub my eyes (it does stop nose picking altogether). I cannot handle pets or touch their food the next day or two, so i t can make longterm use restrictive – you have to make a choice of having less pain in feet or greatly curbing your life. But hey, the pain is so bad at times I’m more than willing to make the sacrifice. 0.075% I find that I cannot use the stronger strength cream as it makes me and some members of the family go into vicious coughing fits. with the stronger version I could not bath the next day as the burning in my feet is just too severe on contact with the water! It also seemed to affect all my pores & comes out as a cool burning sensation. I had put socks on as I have to due to cold feet and found that the residue cream in the socks a couple of days later made the coughing fit just as bad as the initial use and I had to throw the socks, rather than risk another coughing bout. I suffer from Diabetic Neuropathy and the horrible burning, stinging and itching in my feet from early evening and all night. At times it was so bad I would cry. I used ice and cold packs for temporary relief but nothing really worked. Then 3 days ago I tried Zostrix cream. I used the one for arthritis as opposed to the one for diabetics, as all of the ingredients were the same and the pharmac.

Had to persevere but the stinging sensation does goes the more you use it. Just a little at a time but often is the secret.
osteoarthritis in my hands so issues with touching my face/pets even wiping myself! Generally mild irritation in the daytime but at night my hands burn like hell unless I find cool spots for them, so I’m waking hourly to cool them down. I won’t be able to persist for the full time of treatment.

I had injured the bursa over my left hip and it affected the nervemusle/tendon down my leg. Had therapy which was wonderful. After a while the pain would return. I tried the Zostrix and applied with a glove and a pad to rub in. I had immediate relief. Used for about 2 weeks and no pain. Now I use it when I feel the pain starting. I wash my hands even though I use the glove..wash the gloves as well. never any problem with burning.
I have nerve pain in my upper right leg from unknown causes. There are no outward signs that anything is going on with my leg. No redness, rash, nothing. leg “looks” fine! The pain alternates between burning, stabbing, electric-shock-like pain and I have tried everything and nothing helped. It is not shingles as it has no outward sign of anything amiss. A pharmacist suggested I try Zostrix and suggested I try it in a stick form, like a tube of lipstick. I don’t have to touch it with my hands s o no having to be careful of touching face, lips, etc. AND IT WORKS! It has stopped the pain so far. I’ve tried it for two days and so far, so good! Ankle knee pain used cream almost gone when applied 1st time use
I have chronic pain of TMJ. My jaw is also full of arthritis. I can’t take anti-flammatory drugs because I have a kidney disease. This started over 40 years ago. Zostrix provides me with relief that nothing else can. I use a q-tip to put it on, do not get it in your eyes! Wash hands thoroughly afterward. i developed red painful welts on my neck and back.
I had major neuropathy in my hands after neck surgeey. This was in 1994 and the neurosurgeon could only tell me to use hand lotion. The pain was severe and some how, some way I picked up the Zostrix and I am still using my hands today. The only problem I had on using the cream was touching mucous membranes, actually, I was careful of even touching pets because it can really burn. I counld’t wash it off my hands and if you do use it make certain you wash your hands well. I will trying it o n my feet soon, when my husband brings it in. I’m not sure how but I do have plantar facitis, maybe. That is my best guess. Went to the medical doctor who told me it was my knees. The pain is stemming from the bottom of my feet, not my knees. The quack gave me some medication and I was naseous and vomiting the whole time. I’ll try Zostrix for this condition, it beats faux medicine. I’ll be back in a monh or so to report on my feet.
