La Prairie’s Skin Caviar Collection has been around since 1987 and one of the most renowned brands for skincare, this caviar collection is combined with tiny “caviar pearls” from the depth of the sea, which is one of the nature’s own remedy for beauty.

After applying the mask before going to bed, I wake up to a visibly softer and re-hydrated skin! the benefits to this mark were definitely visible from my first application. A firmer and radiant skin and smoothens your pores. whats the key secret to this magical
mask is their signature caviar extracts which help firm the skin, and their sunflower seed oil helps to replenish the skins moisture level with an added benefit of Carica papaya which is blended in to help with the smoothening and your appearance of your skin.
Though the product is pricey retailing at 1/394 AED, yes I can see your jaws drop. But all I keep saying and repeating in most of my reviews are that you must invest on your skin and that is highly important especially to invest on quality products such as these when you age.
This product offers 24+ application and also keeping in mind this is a mini-facial in a bottle which makes it easier to justify the price. I’ve been using this for a week now and am loving the result.
The mask is recommended for 1-3 times/week (or as needed) and should be applied directly to a fully cleansed, clean face.

My Verdict
I’ve been using this product for a week now, my skin tone is much smoother and firmer with pores appearing smaller. My skin seems to be more radiant than before and smoothening out shadow lines on my face. I’m sure if I give it a try for longer there would be much more to say. For now, all I can say this is definitely an investment for your skin, this product retails to 1,435 AED.
My skin is feeling perfectly moisturized, and loving the light glow. A little dollop of this product goes a long way, There’s simply no going back from this heavenly luxury.

Caviar might sound very nutrient and rich, but it’s pretty light that it penetrates into skin very fast without leaving any oily residue on top. The finish of it is surprisingly neat, rather than feeling rich or heavy compared to their products in Skin Caviar collection. It has a very clean feeling, but you can instantly feel hydration deep into your skin.
It contains both Caviar absolute and Caviar Premier. In complete form, the lipids and proteins undergo centrifugation and pressing to capture their intrinsic properties.
How Does Skin Caviar Collection Work?
All La Prairie skincare products may work by using caviar to promote collagen production and ceramides. The caviar is what brings into the collection of products. Collagens keeps the skin firm, while the ceramides retain moisture and give the skin a flawless glow due to its waxy lipid nature.

The night oil harnesses retinol and lipids from the La Prairie’s signature moisturizing ingredient, caviar, and also contains the brand’s proprietary cellular complex, featured in an oil for the first time. “We wanted to expand the benefits of our caviar skincare collection to [line smoothing], in addition to lifting and firming—which it’s always been synonymous for—we thought, well, this would fit with the retinol that is present in caviar,” says Dr. Jacqueline Hill, the scientist that leads La Prairie’s innovation lab.
Over three years of research and development focused on the careful extraction process, balancing the formula and designing the proper packaging to preserve the age-reversing potency of both ingredients. Retinol, in particular, is a difficult ingredient to keep stable. After numerous tests, it was discovered that oil—squalane, specifically—was the optimal vehicle for keeping its maximum efficacy. Squalane is lightweight, rich in antioxidants, and is non-comedogenic (meaning it doesn’t clog pores). And, with oil as the means, the product solidified itself as the final moisture-locking, skin-smoothing step in a nighttime regimen. (Face oils help trap moisture and other active ingredients inside the dermis.) Avocado and maracuja oils play supporting roles; both are antioxidant-rich, the former boosts collagen production and the latter is hyper moisturizing and gentle on dry, sensitive or acne-prone skin.
While it certainly doesn’t need to be paired with La Prairie products, the formula is designed with the entire Skin Caviar range in mind. You can mix a couple of drops in with your night cream, too, if applying two to three drops of oil to your entire face feels like one step too many. If you have oily or acne-prone skin, the retinol can help regulate sebum production over time while smoothing fine lines and wrinkles, but the brand recommends mixing a couple of drops in with a lightweight moisturizer as opposed to one already rich in oils. (So, in La Prairie’s case, the lightweight Luxe Cream Sheer rather than the denser Luxe Cream or Luxe Sleep Mask.)

The Maotik installation at Art Basel resembles the expert product design of this nighttime oil: dark blue at its center, with shades of cobalt blue encircling it. That opaque core shields the precious retinol from light, while also distancing it from the surrounding temperature, as both light and heat would risk total compromise of the ingredient.
When using this product (or any retinol), isolated nighttime use is important. Even on your face, the ingredient can be rendered ineffective in the heat and sun, while also making your skin especially sensitive to the sun’s rays. Because it does increase the skin’s sensitivity to light (only slightly), it is imperative to wash the face in the morning and apply SPF 30+ throughout the day. If it’s your first time using a retinol product, you may notice some slight peeling or redness for the first few weeks. Regular use is necessary to maintain the targeted long-term results (smoothed lines, balanced and brighter complexion), as well as to prevent their onset or return. Results are most visible after the first 90 days of use, and can also be maintained with regular use. And, at least based on our experience, this rejuvenating salve will become your go-to nightcap.

In our new series, Why Is This So Expensive?, we explore the luxury products we love and exactly what you’re paying for. Up first? La Prairie’s, Caviar Premier, which retails for $485 .
When one thinks of La Prairie, they think of caviar. The luxury Swiss skincare brand capitalized on the intriguing ingredient back in 1987 with its debut caviar product, Skin Caviar Dermo Beads. The brand has since expanded into a whole caviar collection, including a sleep mask, body cream, and even a cushion compact foundation. Now, La Prairie is debuting Caviar Premier, a “remastered” take on the original caviar formula. The Skin Caviar Luxe Cream retails for $485 for 50ml or, if you really want to douse yourself, $880 for 100ml. Why does it cost so much? I asked the team who created it to find out.
The cream is made of caviar extract sourced from Siberian sturgeon that is sustainably farmed.
Dr. Daniel Stangl, La Prairie’s director of innovation who leads product development, says the company’s past 30 years of research has shown them caviar extract has “firming, lifting, volumizing benefits, and gives back that elasticity to the skin.” He continues, “It really works on the skin’s extracellular matrix, all of that ‘scaffold’ that really gives the firmness to the skin.”
On top of that, Jacqueline Hill, La Praire’s director of strategic innovation and science, once told ELLE that caviar extract also enhances production of both collagen and ceramides, the naturally occurring lipids that help skin retain moisture.
Caviar Premiere took a total of four years of testing and trials in the lab.
Stangl says,”We have a small team. 10 to 15 people working in formula packaging development, and then it’s a small team managing all the development of exclusive active ingredients.” Part of the what you’re paying for is all the research that goes into maintaining what he calls the “sensorics” of the product, a.k.a. how it feels.
“Caviar premier is a mix of many, many different molecules from a chemical point of view. It’s not easy to incorporate those ingredients into a formula and to keep, at the same time, the sensorics,” shares Stangl. The mix of active ingredients often contradicts the ingredients needed to make the cream feel indulgent to the touch. “This is why we do dozens, sometimes hundreds of trials to reach that balance that makes the right formula,” he explains.
Premium packaging includes a glass jar and silver application spatula.
“It goes back to what our client is, because when somebody pays, just to be very concrete, $500 or $1000 for a skincare product, they do not expect just another skincare experience,” Greg Prodromides, La Praire’s Chief Marketing Officer, says of the pomp and circumstance surrounding the cream. “Notice the immaterial side of luxury, the emotions you spark through the experience you just discovered—unboxing a product is a way to it.”
As for the silver spatula? There’s a practical reason: “If you use a spatula, you do not introduce what you have on your fingers—germs, microbes—into the cream,” explains Stangl. “You could eat with your fingers—why do you use a knife and a fork? It’s a little bit similar, you know? I love the idea of a spatula. It pays a little bit of respect to the cream and also to your skin.”

But is the product worth $400 to $800?
If you can afford Caviar Cream Luxe, it definitely performs. Even after just using the product for one night, it revived my tired, travel-ravaged skin. The look and feel of the whole package, plus the silky feeling of the cream and the little silver spatula made my regular ‘ol routine feel more like a spa treatment. That being said, it’s still expensive. If you prefer the finer things in. say, designer bags and shoes, five star hotels, and food with truffle on it, then yes, this cream very much makes sense in your life.

My Thoughts on La Prairie Skin Caviar Essence-in-lotion
I am a fan of essences and lotions that are used before the serum. Essence creates the perfect base on the skin to get the most benefits out of the serum. I have been using this morning and night before my serum. The essence-in-lotion comes packed in a heavy glass bottle. I take 3-4 drops of this product on my palm and apply it to my cleansed face with both hands. Then, I massage it until absorbed into the skin.
I did feel a slight difference in how my skin feels after the first use only. And after using it for more than a month, I do feel my skin is more refined, hydrated, and conditioned. It has a very subtle and luxurious fragrance. I sometimes just open the bottle of this essence-in-lotion to inhale the beautiful fragrance.

My Thoughts on La Prairie Skin Caviar Liquid Lift
This serum is an all-rounder product in my opinion. I am using this regularly every night during my nighttime routine. And more than three times during my daytime routine. I have noticed the difference. I see a major difference in how my skin looks and feels. Apart from glow and clarity, I see the quality and texture of the skin have improved. No wonder why this line and this product are expensive and loved by so many celebrities and stars.
My skin feels moisturized and firm. The appearance and texture of my skin are better. The skin feels brighter and radiant after applying this serum. The golden caviar beads are stored in a separate chamber. The beads turn into a milky emulsion with golden micro-shimmer particles.
Both the products have not caused any irritation or sensitivity to my skin. The results from these are not something that you can describe exactly. It is something that you see and feel but still, I tried and explained my experience. In conclusion, this product has come out as an all-rounder for me.
I am noticing improvement every day and so happy with these products. I am definitely a fan and would totally recommend you to check out the La Prairie Skin Caviar collection. In other words, it is totally worth it and you will not be disappointed. These products from La Prairie have completely changed the way my skin looks today. I have never seen such nice and brilliant results on my skin so quickly with a product.
