I am not a vet . I dont hav a doctorate or pHd of any kind .. what I am is almost 60 yrs old, and I hav raised, trained, birthed and worked (not professionally or certified) pure-bred, large-boned, german lined GSDs for almost 50 years .. I hav pre-schuzhund trained my own personal GSDs and helped with the training of many others .. I love dogs and hav thought about this for over a year .. I hav spoken with others in showing circles, breeding clubs, training participations, LE circuits (LE = Law Enforcemnt) and even certification/awards ceremony judges .. I do not write this lightly ..
I will try to make this as succinct as possible, but also want to convey the Alarming warning of which I feel compelled to impart .
I know about hip dysplasia and the grading of same in the German Shepherd Dog and Belgian Malinois (also Groendahl, Tuvuren, and even Lakeinois) breeds .. I know their life expectancy can be “iffy” after approx 10 years .. but I also know with the right nutrition and care, these wonderful animals can easily live a good 12-15 years or beyond with the right attention, support and environment ..
my GSD was almost 12 years old .. I noticed some hip affectations in her (responses) and its hard to notice it sometimes for the average person as dogs will instinctively “hide” their pain, much different than us humans ..
I had precipitated this time in her life (again GSDs are notorious breed for this) thusly when I noticed her becoming a bit stiff I started her on a larger dose of glucosamine chondroitin daily .. this worked for several years until I noticed she might need something more and I didnt want to put her on “pain” meds .. so sought a “holistic” or more “natural” remedy .. hence, I found this product .
I usually dont believe when people “blame” a singular product for something, but in this case I cannot ignore the chain of events, so I hav thought it over for much time now, and I MUST RELATE HOW HARMFUL I AM CONVINCED THIS PRODUCT IS ..
I paid in good faith for these, the over $100 price tag being worth what I thought our dog (best GSD ever !) warranted by being a member of our family .. long story short, I will tell you that she was dead after only MONTHS of taking this product.. my beautiful, smart, loyal, protective, ball-drive GSD became completely compromised, resulting in her having to be euthanized ..
now, you might say “well the breed develops that tendency anyway” and I might be inclined to agree .. BUT ! (dear friend please Read On..) I could understand were it some “coincidence” that immediately after taking these she declined so rapidly, and so poorly, and so PAINFULLY . to the point where (she is now gone) but !! BUT . . (read on)
I still didnt make the connection to the (Nutri-Vet Cetyl-M Advanced Joint Action Formula Chewable Tablets 360 ct) “supplements” .. I still had some of the bottle left, plus a WHOLE OTHER UNOPENED BOTTLE of these, at well over $100 each, so I gav it to my neighbor, who also has a large dog, but completely different breed ! it was not near the age of mine and the hips of her breed (large, fluffy, adorable Labradoodle) are not as notoriously known to decline in the same manner, though as dogs age this is supposed to help with their joints in general .. !
within a few months that dog also was dead !! the same type of decline and inability to walk, and then complete “paralysis” of the rear/hind end ..
BOTH dogs experienced a decline in balance .
BOTH dogs experienced a decline in walking ability .
BOTH dogs experienced reluctance to movement .
BOTH dogs experienced disinterest in food.
BOTH dogs experienced panting, distress, and pain.
BOTH dogs experienced a rapid inability to release urine, or defecate.
BOTH dogs expereinced a rapid inability to wag their tails.
BOTH dogs experienced an inability to even keep anything down, and would even vomit up water .
BOTH dogs experienced general “paralysis” of the entire back/hind end area, making HALF of the body inable to move.
BOTH dog experienced the “paralysis” expanding towards the front half of the body.
BOTH dogs had to be euthanized for their own relief .

now imagine having to watch that REPEAT ITSELF .. with the neighbors dog that I gav these “wonderful supplements” to .. for “free” ! I felt horrible and the copycat repeat of the events that transpired hav me CONVINCED these are not good for your canine !
I AM CONVINCED THESE SUPPLEMENTS KILLED MY DOG !
when I gav the bottle(s) to my neighbor, within months I AM CONVINCED THESE SUPPLEMENTS KILLED HER DOG as well !

Our 13 year old German Shepherd was struggling to get up from her beds and some nights needed to be carried up the stairs. After 2 weeks on this supplement, she can now go up the stairs on her own again!

Great product, it does what it’s suppose to. It helps my dog with his joint pain and he’s a 130 pound Black Lab. He’s a big boy and has a lot of pressure on his joints along with his current condition.

Tabs vs powder

I prefer to use the Cetyl M powder. However, you do not seem to carry it anymore. I have found that the tabs do work but not as well.

My dog tore her CCLs which led to some arthritis developing in her knees. I felt like the products I was trying weren’t helping all that much. Before her injury, she was extremely hyper and somewhat difficult to contain on walks but post injury she trailed behind, walking with her head down. It made me so sad to see her this way. The vet prescribed rimadyl but I felt like it made her act off and didn’t even offer much relief anyways. I did some research and came across Cetyl M. Years ago, I actually used to work at a natural pet supply store where it was sold and I recalled a customer telling me they swore by it. It’s worth mentioning that I use this in conjunction with Liquid Health Level 5000 (you’ve gotta get the 5000) and Earth Animal Aches & Discomfort tincture. Miracle Formula

I rescued an 8 year old Lab With severe arthritis years ago. She got worse as she aged. I saw this product and gave it a try. Within days she was standing and walking with much improvement. It worked well for years before her conditioned worsened. Next Lab began to show signs of her age but no improvement with CetylM. Now I have a rescued Lab who is turning 11 and he began have serious trouble standing and moving. Thought I’d try him on this and again almost miraculous improvement within days. It’s definitely worth trying before moving on to prescription meds.

I have used this product on my dogs before and was always happy with the results I got for my animals!! As my dogs get older and start to show sigs of slowing down, I give them this product and they act like puppies again. I cannot say enough good things about this product!!
