Firming Booster

I think that this product the No7 Laboratories Firming Booster Serum works alright. I felt somewhat of a difference in my skin, it felt like it helped a little with firmness in my neck. I think it takes a little bit to notice a difference and maybe with more time I will notice more of a difference in my skin. Will definitely keep using this product to see what continues to happen. I also would recommend it to others, I do think it is a bit pricey though.

Smooth skin

I used No7 firming booster, after the first 2 uses i felt i needed to purchase the whole set. I must say I am definitely impressed with the outcome. I can notice my face is firming up especially around my jawline. I am going to purchase another set thos coming weekend.

Welcome to my skincare fam!

I LOVE this packaging. No matter what, I think this product is worth the splurge just to have a face massage and serum built into one! I gave it a week or so before writing my review because I wanted to give the product a real shot – and here’s the thing, I love it. I’m not totally sure my skin is firmer, but I it feels so great massaging the light weight product into my skin that no matter what I’m totally buying into it! I can’t wait to keep this in rotation and keep my jaw line feeling firm – or at least relaxed and massaged!!

Game changer

No7 has such quality products. The firming booster serum is another great No7 product. It helps to make my skin look fresh and alive. I definitely need it since I hardly sleep because if my baby. I love that there are products that can bring my skin back to life.

Great product

I like this product, it didn’t leave my skin feeling oily or greasy. This firming booster serum is amazing! Easy to use, shake firmly and turn to on position, use a small amount of serum around jawline and used upward and outward motions, repeat around neck and mouth. I have been using this for more than two weeks now and I’m so impressed. My neck is visibly firmer as are the little lines around my lips. I love that this product is so easy to use and it rubs into my skin really well.

Silky heaven for your face

I put this review in last minute. Not because I was putting it off, more like I wanted to give a real answer. I’m 38. I have very dry skin and my wrinkles are deep around my eyes and forehead. I started this serum right away placing it on my face-after a shower. The shower is where I feel my face gets the cleanest and when I’m out it needs the moisture ASAP. Anyways first night time using it I was intrigued by the packaging and structure of the bottle. Quick click and a squeeze and I was rolling away. It’s smooth and silky leaving my skin hydrated and feeling clean. I really enjoyed using this. Fast forward to two weeks later and I’m still using the serum. I honestly can tell you I can see a slight difference under my eyes. A smoother almost plum pier look. I am very impressed with this and have been sharing this with friends.

The massage balls are great

I overall like this serum, I haven’t seen any major results in the 7 days that I used it, but I definitely loved the massage balls that are on the tip, it really helps to apply the product and to massage the areas you want on your face and neck. I will keep using it because I saw some minor improvements in my cheeks and would love to see it on my neck as well.

Firming Serum that brightens

I have mixed feelings about No7 Firming Booster Serum. I’ve never used a firming serum nor a serum that was applied with the balls. The first thing I notices is how easy to use and lightweight this feels on your face. For me, it’s important to not feel like I have a bunch of product on my face. I put this on before my moisturizer and makeup. I do not notice any heaviness from adding this product to my routine. I’ve noticed my face is soft and my cheeks seem tighter. My wrinkles still look the same but I’m hoping that I start noticing them becoming less visible the longer I apply this. My skin is glowing from this which I love. Thank you Bzz Agent for sending me this product to try and review.

In an exclusive first look at the range last Sunday, YOU’s Beauty Director Edwina Ings-Chambers also said she’s been wowed by the products too.

One of No7’s new serums selling every 4 seconds (and the reviews are glowing!)

Every time Boots No7 launches a new serum, some serious hype emerges. Last year, 16,000 people signed up to be notified about the launch of No7 Laboratories Line Correcting Booster Serum; and the waiting lists for the brand’s latest launches have more than doubled that number.

Earlier this week, No7 welcomes two new products to its line: No7 Laboratories Firming Booster Serum, and No7 Laboratories Dark Spot Correcting Booster Serum. A staggering 37,000 people joined the waiting list for the products, causing a frenzy amongst customers when they eventually went on the shelves.

Initally the brand reported that one was leaving the shops every seven seconds, but in fact, No7 has since updated you.co.uk with the news that they’re now selling at the rate of one every four seconds. Phew!

No7 Laboratories Firming Booster Serum reviews

But now the big question has to be answered: do they actually live up to the reputation that previous No7 favourites have built? Well, the first reviews from eager beauty fans are in on the Boots website, and the answer would appear to be a resounding yes.

The Firming Booster Serum, which is designed to help skin look visibly lifted and toned, has received an average of 4.7 out of 5 stars, with one reviewer posting: ‘I have been using this product for two weeks around my jaw line and can see a definate improvement in the firmness of my skin in that area.’

Another called it ‘game changing’, explaining: ‘I have been using this product for the last few weeks and cannot believe the difference I am seeing in my skin. Over the last few years I have really noticed that the skin on my cheeks was starting to sag and this product has made a real difference to the firmness of my skin!’

And the Dark Spot Corrector, said to reduce pigmentation and improve uneven areas of skin tone, is getting an even more enthusiastic reception, with every customer so far giving it 5 out of 5, saying it had made a visible improvement on marks well within the brand’s ‘two weeks of use’ promise.

‘I have suffered from dark spots on my cheeks for the last couple of years and it really effected my self esteem so thank you No7 for this product. My skin is already looking better after just 2 weeks of use and I couldn’t be happier,’ a thrilled purchaser wrote on the listing.

In an exclusive first look at the range last Sunday, YOU’s Beauty Director Edwina Ings-Chambers also said she’s been wowed by the products too.

‘It starts delivering firming results in one week and lifting benefits in two,’ she noted of the former, while adding of the latter: ‘Trial results show testers were willing to forgo their next planned laser treatment for these pesky melatonin issues, which is impressive stuff.’

With the experts’ seal of approval and early testers singing serious praise, it’s only a matter of time before these serums become go-to skincare staples across the nation. Have you added yours to basket yet?

No7 Line Correcting Booster Serum

Boots No7 Line Correcting Booster Serum is a good product overall but could be so much more with just a few additional anti-aging ingredients to make good on its line-correcting claims.

This booster comes packaged in a tall, cylindrical tube with a dropper-type applicator that bears a passing resemblance to a syringe. In order to dispense, you press down on a button at the bottom of the tube.

The fragrance-free serum inside has a lightweight texture that absorbs quickly and makes skin appear plumped and hydrated. It’s light enough that it works will with other skin care products, as well as under makeup.

The stars of the show here are three different peptides that can help skin act younger. The translation is that these ingredients can make a difference in the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

Outside of the peptides (which come after the preservative in the ingredient list, so there’s not a great concentration of them here), there’s not much else here. While this formula can help skin look and act younger, there are other serums that include peptides plus antioxidants and hydrating and restoring ingredients for a more robust benefit.

Still, there’s merit to this product as long as you know that your skin care routine should include additional treatments for maximum results.

  • Lightweight texture absorbs quickly and makes skin appear plumped and hydrated.
  • Contains peptides that can teach skin to look and act younger.
  • Fragrance free.
  • Aside from the peptides, the formula is relatively ho-hum.
  • Peptides are listed after the preservative in the ingredient list, meaning they’re in a lower concentration.

This clinically proven, targeted booster serum is our most concentrated line correcting serum, specially designed to be applied directly to lines and wrinkles.

Boots At-A-Glance

Originating in England, Boots is named after founder John Boot, and it already had a worldwide presence before its 2004 pilot launch in the U.S. retail market through select Target and CVS drugstore. (Note: Boots is no longer available at CVS.) Its success in these stores led to a full-scale launch in spring 2007. Boots has been part of England’s cosmetic history since 1839, and now over 1,500 freestanding Boots stores dot the British landscape. Of course, history has its place, but Boots, on the basis of their longevity, believes that it offers consumers the best products full of quality ingredients and also at a value price. Although it’s true that Boots’ price point is lower than many drugstore lines (at least those whose products make similar claims and have the same target audience), their line consists of some impressive options, but also contains some areas that left us wanting for more.

Boots sunscreens tend to be good, but be aware that some have SPF ratings below the benchmark SPF 30+. Although there are dozens of moisturizers available, youll find that many are indistinguishable from one another in terms of their formulas. While there are many great options for sensitive skin among the Boots line, there are much fewer choices for those seeking impressive anti-aging formulas due to the lack of beneficial ingredients.

Boots does feature antioxidants, peptides, and retinyl palmitate (a form of vitamin A not to be confused with pure retinol) in many of its products, but they tend to be present at less than impressive, or jar packaging compromises their benefits to skin due to light & air exposure.

You’ll find some great options for cleansers, scrubs, sunless tanners, and treatments for dry, chapped lips, all at fair prices, and that’s good news. (There are also quite a few impressive makeup products at surprisingly inexpensive prices.) Check our reviews for the products that shouldn’t be missed (as well as the less-than-impressive options).

For more information about Boots, call (866) 752-6687 or visit www.boots.com.

Note: Boots No7 and Botanics brands (only) are sold in Canada at Shoppers Drug Mart stores. In the U.S., most of the lines can be found at Target, Walgreens, and Ulta. As of August 2015, Boots has been acquired by Walgreens.

Strengths: Inexpensive; outstanding options for sensitive skin; good sunscreens; some impressive makeup products.

Weaknesses: Occasional use of jar packaging; some formulas with limited amounts of beneficial ingredients.

About the Experts

The Beautypedia team consists of skin care and makeup experts personally trained by the original Cosmetics Cop and best-selling beauty author, Paula Begoun. We’re fascinated by skin care and makeup products and thrilled when they meet or exceed our expectations, but we’re also disappointed when they fail to perform as claimed, are wildly overpriced, or contain ingredients scientific research has proven can hurt skin.

Our mission has always been to help you find the best products for your skin, no matter your budget or preferences. Beautypedia’s thorough and insightful reviews cut through the hype and provide reliable recommendations for all ages, skin types, and skin tones.

But make sure you don’t get too trigger happy when dispensing; my first ‘dose’ ended up flying out at such speed it hit the other side of my face. The formula is lovely as you’d expect from No7, it’s light and swiftly absorbed without any obtrusive fragrance. There’s no stickiness, either; it plays nicely with all the other skincare I use and sits well under makeup, so no worries about pilling.

Other Boots No7 Booster serums we love

Boots have recently launched two new booster serums into the range.

This nifty concealer tackles dark spots, promising a diminished appearance in just two weeks. Trails claim that those using the product will see dark patches “visibly reduced” after four weeks.

This nifty serum promises that skin will look “visibly lifted” after two weeks of use. Try applying this booster serum morning and night after cleansing, and before your usual moisturiser (just as you would the No7Laboratories Dark Spot Correcting Serum).

As woman&home’s Beauty Channel Editor, Fiona Mckim has tried more beauty products than she’s had hot dinners and nothing makes her happier than raving about a brilliant find on womanandhome.com or her instagram grid (@fionamckim if you like hair experiments and cute shih-tzus)

Fiona joined woman&home as Assistant Beauty Editor in 2013, working under industry legend Jo GB, who taught her everything she needed to know (clue: learn about ingredients and employ extreme cynicism).

In a previous life, Fiona studied journalism back home in bonnie Scotland and honed her skills as a features writer at publications including Junior and Prima Baby, with a brief and terrifying stint on the showbiz pages of a tabloid newspaper in between. She’s a skincare fanatic who can’t resist adding an extra step to her routine, adores fragrance, has fun with makeup and never turns down the chance to test a new hair tool. Basically, she loves it all.

When not slathering herself in self tan or peering at a tiny ingredients list on a moisturiser, you’ll probably find Fiona enjoying something to do with food – cooking it, eating it, cajoling her friends into trekking across London to try a hyped pop-up in a dirty car park.

Come to think of it, the hot dinners and beauty products are probably about even.

Claiming to be four-times more firming than existing No7 serums, the super-concentrated booster serum includes three anti-ageing ingredients – hyaluronic acid, hibiscus seed extract and matrixyl 3000 plus.

So why are shoppers so keen to get their hand on them? Well, the new new products are both clinically targeted booster serums, aimed at firming the skin and reducing dark spots, respectively.

Costing £38, the first of the two new products is No7 Laboratories Firming Booster Serum, which promises to leave skin looking visibly toned and tighter in just one week.

Claiming to be four-times more firming than existing No7 serums, the super-concentrated booster serum includes three anti-ageing ingredients – hyaluronic acid, hibiscus seed extract and matrixyl 3000 plus.

Matrixyl 3000 plus is No7’s powerful anti-wrinkle peptide technology, which targets skin elasticity and components in the skin such as fibrillin which is lost early on in the ageing process and gives rise to lines and wrinkles.

For ease of application and to make sure every crevice is covered, the firming serum has nifty little roller balls to massage the serum effectively into your skin.

Also costing £38, the Dark Spot Correcting Booster Serum is designed to intensively target uneven pigmentation and dark spots, and has six-times more lightening technology than other No7 serums.

Tested on 195 women over eight weeks, 75 percent of them said their age spots, dark spots or other areas of pigmentation had faded.

Like the firming serum, the dark spot corrector is a blend of key ingredients which act on hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone.

There are sephora, embilica and vitamin C (which normalise the melanin levels), mulberry and liquorice (an antioxidant and soothing agent) and gluconolacctone, a mild exfoliant for surface pigmentation.

If No7’s Line Correcting Booster Serum is anything to go by, we’ve got high hopes for the latest, more potent additions to its anti-ageing range.

Reviewing the original year-old serum, one happy shopper wrote: ‘I’ve been using this for just 2 weeks and I can see an amazing different in a deep frown line on my forehead. The product feels lovely to apply and most importantly it really works! [sic]’

If you fancy snapping up one of these new serums for yourself, the waiting list is actually now closed, but you’ll only have to wait until tomorrow to go in-store or online and get your hands on one.
