Menopause is part of the natural life cycle of women. Menopausal symptoms affect about 70% of women approaching menopause. Typical menopause symptoms, such as hot flashes or night sweats, are caused by changing hormonal levels in the female reproductive system. Almost all women notice early symptoms while still having periods. This stage of gradually falling and fluctuating hormone levels is called perimenopause, which often begins in the early 40s.

Menopeace helps a woman pass through menopause more smoothly, by helping to ease the hormonal ups and downs that can occur during this period of a woman’s life.

Almost all women notice early symptoms while still having periods. This stage of gradually falling and fluctuating hormone levels is called perimenopause, which often begins in the early 40s.

The symptoms of menopause usually last for the whole menopause transition (until the mid 50s), but some women may experience them for the rest of their lives. This can be an uncomfortable time for many women as they adjust to fluctuating hormone levels, hot and cold flashes, and a variety of other symptoms.

Menopeace is formulated with isoflavones, terpenes, and flavonoids to help balance hormone production through menopause. The plant-based, estrogen-like properties of the isolates in Menopeace help modulate estrogen and testosterone levels, keeping them within normal ranges. As well, the natural ingredients help regulate estrogen to progesterone levels, for a smooth transition. Menopeace accomplishes this without the carcinogenic fears of hormone replacement therapy (HRT).

Menopause Transitions

Beginning around our mid-30s, our female hormones start to naturally decline and change in balance, relative to one another. During our forties, occasional hot flashes, night sweats, and irregular cycles may occur, a time generally referred to as perimenopause. Eventually our menstrual cycle ceases altogether; after one year without menstruating, it’s official: we’ve entered menopause.

During this time of transition (and even beyond menopause, for many women), difficulty sleeping, hot flashes, night sweats, palpitations and mood disturbances are common. Hot flashes are no fun when you’re melting during an important meeting or in the supermarket aisle! Sleep disruption can be especially problematic, as uninterrupted, restorative rest is crucial for our physical and mental wellbeing – especially during a time of new changes in our life. Poor quality sleep affects our energy, mood, and ability to handle stress with calm and balance.

Menopause Transitions is formulated by women who fully understand the challenges accompanying these hormonal changes. Featuring traditional hormone-balancing botanicals and restorative herbal adaptogens, Menopause Transitions helps to naturally ease hot flashes and night sweats and promote restful sleep, so that you can experience a more comfortable and balanced transition.*

Hormones: A delicate balance

Hormones are very powerful substances that regulate bodily functions and cause dramatic changes in our health. As estrogen levels decline and fluctuate during the perimenopausal and menopausal periods, the normal balance of this group of hormones is disrupted and typical menopausal symptoms result. Many herbs contain safe and naturally occurring estrogens and can be used as natural hormone replacement therapy without the side effects of conventional HRT. Some of these herbs include: Vitex, dong quai, black cohosh, damiana, soy extracts, licorice and others. Use standardized extract versions of these plants as they are stronger than the raw versions and contain a consistent amount of active ingredient. Progesterone levels can also be optimized with the essential fat supplements primrose oil or borage oil. Both of these contain the essential fat GLA which your body needs to produce progesterone. Both of these work well combined with vitamin E. An imbalance between estrogen and progesterone is largely the reason why women experience hot flashes and an increased risk of heart disease and osteoporosis.

Other hormones such as thyroid and adrenal gland hormones can also fluctuate during menopause & perimenopause, causing symptoms such as fatigue, anxiety, stress, and insomnia.

Dong Quai: For Menopause
Dong quai is one of the most important herbs in traditional Asian medicine. It is considered to be a tonic for females and can be used for everything from fatigue and recovery from illness to hormonal imbalances. Dong quai is a phytoestrogenic agent. This means that it contains plant estrogens, compounds that look similar to human estrogen and can interact with estrogen receptors in the human body.

The important thing to remember is that these plant estrogens only stimulate the receptors a fraction of the amount that the hormone estrogen would. Therefore dong quai can be used to treat conditions of high estrogen activity, by blocking the activity of the hormone estrogen. It can also treat conditions of low estrogen activity by binding to vacant receptor sites and causing a bit of hormonal stimulation. Dong quai is used to treat menopausal symptoms, like hot flashes, anxiety and depression, and PMS and painful periods. Some compounds in dong quai have been found to decrease blood pressure by dilating vessels making dong quai useful for treating high blood pressure. It is also reported that dong quai supports the production of red blood cells. Red blood cells carry oxygen to body tissues. By increasing blood production dong quai can alleviate anemia and improve energy.

Chaste Tree Berry: For Females During all Stages of Life!

Chaste tree received its name from the ancient Greeks and Romans because they believed that it decreased the female libido, thus ensuring chastity. It has been eaten and worn by Monks to promote celibacy. Its modern medicinal uses are also related to sex hormones. The active ingredients of chaste tree have been noted to affect the pituitary gland.

This gland is located in the brain and produces hormones that stimulate the production of sex hormones in other areas of the body. It also contains chemicals that have the ability to stimulate human progesterone receptors and favour the production of luteinizing hormone over follicle stimulating hormone. These hormones are used in the female body to support pregnancy and lactation, but their effects can also help other female complaints.

Natural health practitioners recommended chaste tree for conditions such as PMS, acne and menstrual cramps; hot flashes, vaginal dryness and other menopausal symptoms; insufficient milk production and first trimester miscarriages.
