DIRECTIONS:

Step 1:Wash the skin with a gel cleanser and pat dry. Then apply pre-peel solution using a cotton ball to ensure the skin is properly cleansed.
Step 2: Apply the TCA 20% peel to a gauze pad and smooth it over the desired area of the face, neck or decolletage.
Step 3: Allow the peel to set for no more than 30-60 seconds during the first application. Observe the reaction and note the results. During future treatments, you may increase the peel time and/or add a second coat. If the skin feels uncomfortable, apply cool water gauze compresses to calm the sensation.
Step 4: Remove the peel by applying the Neutralizer Solution directly over the applied area. Rinse the remaining solution with cool water. Gently pat the skin dry.

Depending on the depth of the peel, the skin will likely peel between four to 10 days. I followed the directions perfectly starting with washing my face and using the pre peel prep solution. It was then peel time and I used the gauze provided to apply. The instructions suggested that I leave the peel on for 1-2 minutes, however, it was at this time I realized I didn’t have my cell phone to time myself. The peel did have a slight tingle and burn, which I expected, but wasn’t as bad as I feared. I feel as if I didn’t leave the peel on for long enough. I’m thinking it was about 45 seconds. I then applied the neutralizing solution and washed my face with cool water. Easy!!

My TCA peel arrived promptly and wonderfully packaged as you can see. The peel includes a peel prep, the TCA medical grade peel, a neutralizing solution, gauze pads, and instructions. I have to be honest, I was terrified while reading the instructions. I read that this low grade TCA peel could have 3 days of downtime that may include shedding, peeling, redness, swelling, and more. Since I read this all on December 21st, I got nervous and decided to wait until after Christmas to do my peel in case I experienced redness and shedding. I didn’t want to ruin our holiday photos!

It’s been 24 hours since my peel. My skin already looks noticeably more clear and some blemishes are gone. I have yet to develop any real shedding or flaking of skin, but Kristen said that it could take up to 3 days for peeling to begin and since I didn’t leave it on long, it might not happen at all. My skin is also tight feeling which I believe has to do with elastin and collagen production. It’s like a mini facelift of sorts thus far. I can not wait to reuse my peel next week, this time with a timer, to ensure maximum results!
