So it has really poor reviews and a rather high price tag but I’m kinda loving L’Oreal Revitalift Miracle Blur Instant Skin Smoother Finishing Cream.
At $24.99 this is one high end price tag for a drugstore primer. L’Oreal promises it’ll erase lines, wrinkles, and pores.
This comes in a 1.18 oz squeeze tube which I purchased from Drugstore.com for $24.99. I don’t have larger pores or fine lines or wrinkles however, I like using a moisturizing primer to prep my face for makeup and I rely on a silicone one on occasion as it works best to extend the wear of my makeup and blur the appearance of pores on my nose which are visible.

This stuff is THICK. It’s one of the thickest primers I’ve ever used in my entire makeup life. So thick in fact it proves a challenge to squeeze out of the tube. I typically dislike silicone foundations particularly Smashbox primers because they simply make me feel so itchy. I actually had no problems with Miracle Blur. Not a single hiccup. No itch, no scratching, no uncomfortable feel…
The thicker texture makes it incredibly difficult to apply and blend out. It looks like a paste of some sort. A few reader’s mentioned it was greasy, too thick, and made them shiny….for me it has a smooth, velvety matte finish. It creates a SUPER even and smooth surface for my makeup. Pores on my nose are virtually erased and my skin looks airbrushed after makeup application. It was created as a finishing cream (after makeup) or a primer (before makeup). I prefer using it before makeup as it seems to dull my blush and other makeup when applied on top of it. The really fantastic thing about is would be the way it extends my BB Cream and foundation wear. I can get an extra one to three hours (depending on the foundation product I use) out of my base.
Moral of the story?
My skin looks amazing with this. The nose on my pores virtually disappear, my bb cream and foundation have longer wear times, and my skin looks flawless. It was a delightful surprise and I will repurchase it. I hated the price to be honest and I actually won’t Muse Approve or recommend it because I think the thicker texture won’t exactly please everyone. I, for one, love it. If you’re considerably older with finer lines it make me a miracle product for creating a smoother surface for your make and really I’d say it was for women 50 and over. This age demographic will probably see the best results. If you have larger pores I’d check it out but only if you find it on sale.

I myself was impressed by how quickly my fine lines around my mouth had vanished by just using a small amount of cream. It is a thicker consistency than other creams, but a little certainly goes a long way. My skin looked soft and smooth. I feel good knowing that it also has SPF 30, so it helps protect my skin from the sun. You can wear it alone, or put on after your daily moisturizer. You can also apply before putting on your make up. It helps by giving your look a smooth finish. It’s also not too expensive.
L’Oreal Revitalift Miracle Blur Ingredients
The active ingredients of L’Oreal Revitalift Miracle Blur are:
- avobenzone 3%
- homosalate 10%
- octisalate 5%
- octocrylene 5%
- oxybenzone 6%
The inactive ingredients are dimethicone, C12-15 alkyl benzoate, talc, diisopropyl sebacate, silica, silica silylate, glycerine, trimethylsiloxylsilicate, dimethicone crosspolymer and water.
One of the biggest flaws of the product is the lack of information on the active ingredients and how they work.
The primary active ingredients are mostly for protecting the skin from the harmful rays of the sun and the ingredients that reduce skin aging signs are not detailed.
It is said to use the Opti-Blur technology of L’Oreal which diffuses light away from the surface of the skin to reduce instantly the visibility of skin aging signs.
