What is Hyaluronic Acid?
My husband and I are using the Clarigenics
Hyaluronic Acid Serum for 17 days already. We religiously applying the serum
around our eyes, and face down to our neck. Right now, we can visibly tell the
difference it made in our skins mostly on my part. Before I tried this serum,
my facial care was Anew Platinum Cream but after few hours of applying it into
my face and being exposed to sunlight, my skin were becoming dry again to the point that
becoming flaky. With this serum, my skin were transformed from dry and rough
to smooth and soft. It is not flawlessly smooth like the face of commercial
model but it is totally far from being dry. The potent, long-lasting moisture
treatment effectively works in the kind of facial skin I previously had and
transformed it to a moisturized skin. For the deep line repair part, I should say it’s still a work in progress. As you noticed in the picture below, there was a deep line in between my eyebrows but after weeks of applying HA it was reduced slowly.

It has the characteristics of Aloe Vera gel and that isn’t surprising as Aloe is one of the top ingredients in this serum. Once again, I did question the use of sodium benzoate in this product. Sodium benzoate was labeled incorrectly as a potential carcinogen due to its usage as a preservative in soft drinks that contained Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) and if there was excessive heat conditions, would create benzene
which is a known carcinogen. However, that use in food/drinks is a totally different formula and chemistry and I did not find that it pertained to skin care products. ( source ) That said, I am not an expert, and whereas I did research all of the pro’s and con’s of this ingredient, you should research this ingredient yourself and come to your own conclusions. There are many sites from beauty bloggers who claim this is toxic, there is one British study that linked it DNA degeneration (although I cannot find this study
it is just mentioned in blogs with no source) and I am not going to be held responsible for an opinion that I formed after reading many articles and blogs about this ingredient. I am not sure why so many natural, organic companies use this ingredient in any formula that contains Vitamin C because of this controversy.
