Another determining factor when it comes to buying Zo Medical Brightenex is the brand. Well-known brands for Zo Medical Brightenex will most likely be more expensive than lesser-known brands, but that is because the quality of their product is known and can be depended upon. Depending on the product you want, the brand may make a massive difference when it comes to durability, efficiency, and quality.

Apart from being a trusted brand, Amazon also upholds a standard of quality, so you can be sure what you order is what you will receive. Many sites that sell products such as eBay Wish or Etsy may have the right products, but often, the sellers are not verified, so there’s no guarantee for their authenticity. Amazon has a large assortment of products and is recognized for its convenience when it comes to shopping.

Amazon also offers a wide variety of goods at pretty competitive prices. Amazon sources its products from several suppliers, so you have various options for a single product. It also offers the option to customize your order with other products for effective shipping.

Another reason for choosing Amazon is because it offers free shipping, which is reliable. Compared to other sites that charge a ton for shipping, you can quickly get your goods delivered to your doorstep in a short period with Amazon Prime. Amazon Prime allows you to save on shipping costs and still access excellent streaming services.

Something we believe is that every page on the website should be created for a purpose. Our Quality Page Score is therefore a measurement of how well a page achieves that purpose. A page’s quality score is not an absolute score however, but rather a score relative to other pages on the website that have a similar purpose. It has nothing to do with any product ratings or rankings. It’s our internal auditing tool to measure the quality of the on the page content. There are a number of factors that determine the Page Score of a given page. Landing page quality is a factor in determining Page Score. Landing page quality generally refers to whether or not the overall page contains relevant and original content to the web page visitor. The content quality value of a web page is determined by comparing a page to known quality patterns and each pattern carries a different weighting in how it affects the overall content quality value of a page. We also factor in user generated feedback on this form plus a page quality algorithm. Since web pages content can change, the content quality value of a web page is updated periodically.

Overview Of Brightenex

Brightenex is a non-hydroquinone skin brightening and correcting cream that may aim to combat hyperpigmentation and skin discoloration. Brightenex may also be used as a maintenance cream after undergoing RX treatment.

It is the first commercial product launch that balances retinol, melanin inhibitors, and antioxidants with natural patented Oleosome Technology. Continue to read to find out what Brightenex reviews demonstrate about the effectiveness of this product.

Let’s talk about retinol. We’ve heard the word thrown around a lot when it comes to skin care, and many can be intimidated by it. However, retinol is simply a derivative of Vitamin A, that promotes cell turnover. Retinol also produces collagen and elastin which minimizes fine lines, decreases pore size, and promotes healthy epidermal turnover. This means accelerated skin exfoliation, which helps reduce the appearance of dark spots, age spots, and minimizes discoloration. Retinol also helps acneic skin by controlling oil production and pulling out impurities lodged into pores.

Brightenex – A Game Changer

We usually hear of people being “allergic” to retinol or not wanting to start it because they’re “too young”. These statements are common misconceptions of retinol. Once we hit 20, the skin’s collagen production reduces by 1% each year. In fact, retinol can be incorporated into anyone’s skin care routine as needed. Growing up in my teens, I never had large amounts of active acne, but my skin was always dull, dry, sensitive, and texturized. Even though I didn’t have active breakouts very often, I was never confident in my skin. I used every single product found on the shelf of Sephora, hoping it would help with my enlarged pores, texturized bumpy skin, and uneven dull skin tone. Nothing helped. Once I switched over to the ZO Skin Health line, my skin started becoming brighter and clearer. But the one product that transformed my skin was Brightenex 0.25% (now known as Retinol Skin Brightener 0.25%) by ZO Skin Health.

What to Expect:

When anyone first begins retinol, they should start at the lowest concentration and build their way up. As you would use a medication, you would use a prescribed low dose, and as you build tolerance, you can gradually increase your dosage intake. It’s the same case with retinol as with any medical grade skin care product. When first starting retinol, you can choose to use it a couple times a week, and gradually increase to every night, or you can dilute it with your night crème so it’s not as potent. This way you can dip you toe into the water without diving in head first. For the first bit, expect your skin to be sensitized, slightly irritated, red, tight, and flaky. Most people commonly mistake this reaction as an “allergic” reaction. Retinoids are very strong and active ingredients, a reaction like this is to be expected as your skin is slightly in shock and will need time to adjust to their mechanisms of action. However, if you’re experiencing swelling or itching, then you may need to get that checked out. This phase can last anywhere from a five days to a couple of weeks, depending on how often you are using the retinol. I dove in head first and started using it every night since I wanted to get over the adjustment phase faster and not prolong it. THIS WILL PASS. Do NOT freak out, it’s so absolutely, positively worth it. I promise you. Keep in mind however to ALWAYS wear SPF every morning when you’re using retinol, as your skin can become susceptible to sun damage during this time.

Anyone that I have ever recommended retinol to comes back to me 3 months later thanking me, and re-purchasing their retinol without fail. Brightenex 0.25% is an absolute game changer. It’s one of my top products that I literally cannot live without. It solved my texture issues, pore size, and make my skin so bright and shiny people think I’m wearing highlighter all the time but it’s #allnatural baby. Not only does this product have all the amazing benefits of a retinol, but it also contains brightening agents in the ingredients. These help even out skin tone, brighten the skin, and reduce any pre-existing pigmentation. As an individual of middle eastern heritage, when I get any pimples or when I scar, it does not go red in colour, my skin discolors into a dark brown color in the area of my spot. Before using retinol, these pesky dark spots would remain on my face for weeks and would not go away. Using retinol makes them go away within days.

Brightenex has now become one of my holy grail products that I will never, ever, ever stop using. Even when I am my most tired, I always get that retinol on at night without a doubt. I know it sounds too good to be true, but it really is. You will not believe me until you try it, so bring on the brave ladies and check out Brightenex 0.25% if you’re frustrated with your routine and you need that extra push. Remember guys, downtime = results.

Apply 1-2 pumps evenly on the face and other areas to be treated at night. Begin use gradually and increase as tolerated. Use every other day. Initial dryness, irritation and peeling is normal and typically develops 2-3 days following first application. Dryness, peeling and irritation will diminish as new, fresh skin is revealed.

Brightenex is a lightweight topical cream marketed as a powerful tool to combat skin discoloration through the use of vitamins A, C, and E, as well as antioxidants, without the use of caustic bleaches. Brightenex avoids the use of hydroquinone which I think is great since there’s a risk of ochronosis from long term use. Developed and distributed by ZO Skin Health, Inc,a line created by renowned dermatologist Dr Zein Obagi.

Dr Obagi was also the founder of the raved about Obagi-Nu Derm line which I’m also a fan of. He left the brand to form a new company a few years later. By 2007, as medical director of ZO Skin Health Inc., the outspoken pioneer had produced ZO Medical and ZO Skin Health lines.

Brightenex Skin Brightener & Correcting Crème is bioengineered to target all three stages of skin discoloration through a patented, bio-vectored, microsphere delivery system. This really is a potent product so I recommend starting of with weekly applications to prevent irritation. After a couple of weeks, you can use it 3x week (Mon,Wed,Fri).

I’ve been testing this for a couple of months and find it rivals prescription options like Tri-Luma and really wipes out dark marks left behind from acne. What I really like about the line is how it uses ingredients that you can’t find in other cosmeceutical brands.

It’s ingredients make it safe for long-term use and it pairs well with other brightening products.

It even contains ascorbic acid-2 glucoside a unique, stabilized form of vitamin C developed by binding glucose to ascorbic acid that helps support the skin’s ability to fight free radicals, leading to younger looking, brighter skin. It’s considered more effective because it is converted into active vitamin C slowly, so more of the antioxidant’s benefits are used by skin. Conventional vitamin C is water soluble, and can be degraded during the formulation process, rendering it less effective.

The ZO line has really surpassed my expectations and I’ll definitely be reviewing more products from their line!

There is not a magical cream that will immediately lighten skin pigmentation. Even with hydroquinone use, topical agents will require consistent use and time. Laser is sometimes indicated, but ongoing at-home treatment is still recommended. If skin is strong and used to retinol products, our ZO 3-Step Peel is an aggressive peel that results in significant brightening of skin and improvement of skin tone and texture. This peel requires “getting skin ready” for onemonth prior to treatment. The “getting skin ready” portion is cleansing, polishing, and toning skin for one month, with retinol use gradually added into the routine. Once the patient can tolerate retinol usage every other day, the 3-Step Peel is performed in the office. The peel is performed, and a retinol cream is applied at the end of the peel and is left on the skin for at least 5 hours after the patient leaves. The following morning, a second application of retinol cream is used at home. Skin may appear tight, shiny, and darkened for a day or two after the peel application. The skin then begins to slowly peel, and sheeting of the skin often occurs. This significant peeling may also be accompanied by mild stinging and redness of the underlying skin, which can last for up to a week. Once the skin heals, the result is brightened, more evenly-toned and -textured skin. The 3-Step Peel can be repeated monthly for additional treatment, if needed.

Pigmentation

Summer’s almost over, and many of us are carrying around evidence of exposure to the sunshine: sun spots, melasma, and uneven color and tone of our skin. Even with consistent sunscreen use, it is common for our skin to hyperpigment, or create more color, with exposure to heat or sunshine. Correcting hyperpigmentation is often done with topical agents – creams that lighten spots and brighten skin. It is also done with laser and chemical peels. We use and retail premium products from “ZO Skin Health, by Zein Obagi, MD.”

A vitamin C serum, such as ZO Skin Health’s “ Ossential C-Bright Serum ” helps to re-texturize skin surface pigmentation for a brighter, more even-toned complexion. It also minimizes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It does not contain retinol or hydroquinone and is the mildest cream of available lightening agents.

ZO “ Ossential Brightalive ” is a non-retinol, non-hydroquinone skin brightener that reduces the appearance of skin discoloration and brown spots and is ideal for all skin types when strong bleaching is not indicated. This can be used in conjunction with Ossential C-Bright Serum.

For patients looking to brighten non-facial skin, or for those who desire a low strength of retinol, ZO Skin Health’s “ Brightamax ” is a combination of 0.25% retinol and vitamin C. These key ingredients work together to brighten existing pigmentation, while an antioxidant complex hydrates the skin to prevent dryness, damage, and premature aging.

ZO Skin Health’s “ Brightenex ” is a retinol cream that rapidly brightens and evens skin tone. It is ideal for use as the first course in treating hyperpigmentation and/or as a maintenance product after completing a course of prescriptive treatment. Retinol cream contains a concentrated form of vitamin A, which penetrates the skin and causes cells (including pigmented cells) to rise to the surface and flake or peel off. The underlying skin rises to the surface, revealing fresh, youthful skin. Although this is considered a brightening agent, users also notice improvement in texture, fine lines, and wrinkles. It is common to experience a delayed reaction of mild flaking, peeling, and redness. To minimize this, we recommend allowing the face to dry for 20 minutes after an evening cleanse, then applying one pump of Brightenex over the face, avoiding eyelids, lips, and nares. Wait until a reaction is seen and the skin is allowed to heal from the first application before using Brightenex again. This can take 3-4 days, so we recommend using Brightenex twice weekly, with a gradual increase in frequency as tolerated. Retinol use is exposing youthful, delicate skin, which is also more susceptible to sun damage. Therefore, consistent sunscreen use is important during the day.

Pigmentation can also be treated with hydroquinone, a prescription cream that targets the melanocytes, or pigment-producing cells that lie deep in the skin. Hydroquinone is a highly effective treatment for moderate to severe hyperpigmentation, especially melasma. This potent compound gradually bleaches and lightens skin conditions such as chloasma, freckles, lentigines and sun damage. ZO Skin Health’s “ Melamix ” and “ Melamin ” are prescription 4% hyproquinone creams that are used together, to target the puddles of pigmented cells in the skin, as well as the “points” of pigment that rise from those puddles. Melamin bleaches the pigmented cells, and Melamix blends the puddles of pigmented cells to create even color. They are used with retinol, which helps to bring cells to the surface, as well as with exfoliants, to lift those cells from the skin. Hydroquinone is the most aggressive form of bleaching agents, and can be used for up to five months. Patients who use hydroquinone need to taper off of hydroquinone, to avoid having rebound pigmentation occur. After use of hydroquinone, the taper includes stepping down to Brightenex as maintenance therapy.

At the request of our many patients who are seeking treatment for hyperpigmentation, our September special is an exclusive package of products used for brightening skin, including:

  • ZO Foamacleanse
  • ZO Exfoliating Polish
  • ZO Balatone
  • ZO Melamix
  • ZO Melamin
  • Refissa prescription retinol cream
  • Brightenex
  • $50 coupon towards 3-Step Peel

We recommend use of the products in the package for a few months, with a taper off of hydroquinone after 5 months, or when the desired effect is achieved (whichever comes first), followed by a 3-Step Peel to lift any remaining pigment. The 3-Step Peel is optional, but is a nice “finish” to treating skin after a course of hydroquinone.

Because hydroquinone is prescription-only, it is available by appointment only, to established patients. To become our established patient, or to schedule your free consultation, call our office at (616)396-1433.

ZO Brightening Protocol

ZO Skin Health’s main objective is to deliver the best and most effective results for skin care. Each ingredient is carefully placed in a regimen for specific skin care concerns. The ZO Brightening products offer a perfect blend of ingredients that address skin discoloration without irritation or stinging. ZO Brightening regimen provides the benefits of both hydroquinone and non-hydroquinone treatments. Hydroquinone is a topical skin-bleaching agent that treats moderate to severe hyperpigmentation, especially melasma. This topical agent gradually bleaches and lightens skin conditions such as chloasma, freckles, lentigines and sun damage. Hydroquinone should be used at a maximum treatment period of five months in order to avoid inflammation, rebound hyperpigmentation and reduced tolerance. After the treatment period is over, you can resume your skin care regimen with the ZO Non-Hydroquinone Brightening system.

For mild pigmentation conditions, the ZO Non-Hydroquinone protocol can be used long term. You should anticipate mild to moderate reactions. After cleansing, exfoliating and toning, use the following products:
