BrainPlus IQ Review: Don’t Buy Before You Read This!

What is it?

BrainPlus IQ is a nootropic product that claims it is helpful for both short-term and long-term mental performance levels. Its advertising says that it can help provide energy, mental focus, and improve memory function.

Their promotional materials also highlight the ability of BrainPlus IQ to reduce the damage of oxygenation and other environmental factors. They say that it can help both the elderly and healthy adults think faster and clearer, improve their motivation, and lead to improved mood and outlook.

The nootropic aid that has received the most positive reviews from our team is Memotenz. It is a daily nootropic supplement that has been shown to be highly effective for users of all ages and mental abilities. Click here to read our team’s full review for Memotenz.

BrainPlus IQ Ingredients and Side Effects

BrainPlus IQ does not choose to publish their full ingredients panel but instead only highlights one of their ingredients in their promotional materials. The only ingredient that BrainPlus IQ was willing to disclose is:

Phosphatidylserine

Phosphatidylserine: An amino acid derivative compound that is manufactured naturally in the body but can also be found in supplements and natural food sources. Phosphatidylserine (PS) is thought to be useful for improving mental performance and preventing mental decline.

PS is what’s called a glycerophospholipid; a combination of fatty acids, glycerol, and serine. It is found most commonly in beef and beef byproducts, as well as in chicken, pork, seafood, white beans, barley, rice and other forms of plant and animal matter.

PS is used by the body in the blood coagulation process, helping to provide a surface that the proteases that lead to wound closing can gather on. Without phosphatidylserine it would be very difficult for blood to begin the clotting process.

It is also key factor in the cell signaling process, which controls communication on the cellular level throughout the body. Cell signaling controls cells’ abilities to respond to their environment and the body’s needs, including immune function, tissue generation, and cellular development.

The most common usage of phosphatidylserine supplements is for the prevention of cognitive decline. Dopamine and serotonin metabolite production slows as we age, and can lead to issues like Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. It can also help prevent geriatric depression and improve memory function in elderly users.

PS has also been shown to help improve cognition in healthy adults, and may have applications for increasing memory function as well – although those effects are less proven in humans. PS may also help increase athletic performance and exercise efficiency, and has been particularly shown to help improve users’ golf games.

There are very few negative effects associated with PS consumption. There were worries about some types of PS supplements potentially being contaminated with mad cow disease, however improved regulations in recent years have eliminated this concern from ethically sourced phosphatidylserine.

BrainPlus IQ Quality of Ingredients

Phosphatidylserine is considered a safe and effective nootropic agent that is useful in the short term for improving cognition and memory function, as well as in the long term for preventing cognitive decline, Alzheimer’s disease, and the symptoms of dementia. It is one of our panel of health and wellness experts’ most highly recommended ingredients for nootropic supplements of all types.

Unfortunately, it is not known exactly how much PS is included in their blend, and it is highly unlikely that phosphatidylserine is the only ingredient in BrainPlus IQ. Since they do not publish their ingredients panel, users have no way of knowing dosage amounts or what other lower quality ingredients may be included in their proprietary formula.

The advertising for BrainPlus IQ includes the mention of benefits like increased energy and focus, which are not typically associated with phosphatidylserine. They do tend to be linked to low-quality stimulants like caffeine or guarana, which many less-reputable brands include in their blends, despite the fact that they have been shown to be able to do as much harm to cognitive function as good.

The issue with lower-quality stimulants is that they provide focus and energy for short periods of time, but then can lead to decreased mental function in the long run. There is no way to know if BrainPlus IQ contains caffeine or other stimulants, however it is sadly common for less reputable brands of nootropic supplements to use them without disclosing that fact.

Users feel like they can feel the supplement working because of the stimulatory boost, however this is a short-term illusion, and performance is likely to decrease rapidly. Consumers have a right to know what chemicals they are putting into their body and should never purchase a product that is trying to conceal that information.

Reputable brands publish their ingredients blends because they want to demonstrate to customers that they have a quality product. This allows for easy comparison between brands and ensures that consumers can pick the supplement that will be most suited to their particular needs and brain chemistry.

If you do not know the contents of a supplement, you have no guarantee that it will be effective for your needs or even safe for your consumption. Our team does not recommend any product that does not disclose its full nutritional information.

The Price and Quality of BrainPlus IQ

BrainPlus IQ is only available through their own website and is not sold by any third-party distributors. The pricing structure that they quote on their homepage is as follows:

  • 1, 30-day supply of BrainPlus IQ pills: $54.95
  • 1, 90-day supply of BrainPlus IQ pills: $107.85
  • 1, 150-day supply of BrainPlus IQ pills: $149.75

This price is about average for products of this nature. It is possible that customers in the United States will be unable to purchase their products, although no reason for this discrepancy is given. It is legal for sale in the United Kingdom and Canada, however it is possible that they use unlisted ingredients that are illegal in the US.

Business of BrainPlus IQ

BrainPlus IQ is manufactured by a company called BioTrim Labs. The contact information that they provide on their website is as follows:

Phone Number: (800) 911-9111

Address: PO Box 1201

Singapore, 918118, SG

Email: BrainPlus IQ does not publish an email address for public use, however their contact page features an electronic contact form that can be used for those purposes.

Potential customers should be aware that there are hundreds of reports of fraud related to BioTrim Labs online. Many people have posted their accounts of fraudulent charges, products that were never shipped, and dishonest customer service representatives.

EDITOR’S TIP: For the best results, our experts recommend using brain enhancement supplements for at least 3 months. Save your money by buying a few bottles at once.

Customer Opinions of BrainPlus IQ

Aside from the many reports of dishonest business practices, there are also numerous accounts of negative experiences with the product itself. Here are several reviews for BrainPlus IQ from their former customers:

“I can’t believe that a product this bad is still being sold to customers, and even worse I fell for it. Does nothing for mental performance and it totally jacked up my stomach for a couple days.”

“Made the inside of my head feel itchy all the time and I couldn’t concentrate. I hated the feeling, and there was nothing that could be done for it but throw the rest of that crap away.”

“DO NOT USE. THIS IS GARBAGE AND THE PEOPLE THAT MADE IT ARE EVIL. I VOW MY REVENGE FOR ALL THAT THEY HAVE TAKEN FROM ME.”

It is rare to read customer reviews for a product that contain so much genuine anger at the company themselves. There were no reviews that could be found online from users that had positive experiences with BrainPlus IQ.

Conclusion – Does BrainPlus IQ Work?

Despite the fact that the main ingredient in BrainPlus IQ is the highly-regarded phosphatidylserine, the overall product is not well-regarded at all.

It is highly unlikely that PS is the only ingredient in BrainPlus IQ, however it is the only one that they mention. It is unacceptable for a health and wellness product to try to obscure their contents from their clientele. It is a potentially dangerous practice that often indicates underlying issues with their proprietary blend.

Even if BrainPlus IQ did publish their ingredients, the hundreds of reports of fraudulent business practices and the deeply unflattering customer reviews would prevent our team from recommending our readers do business with them. Not only do we recommend staying away from BrainPlus IQ, but consumers are strongly encouraged to avoid providing any kind of payment info or personal data to any affiliate of BioTrim Labs.

The most trustworthy nootropic product on the market is Memotenz. They are well respected by both their clientele and by other professionals within the industry.

Moreover, the manufacturers have claimed that their product has been featured on famous news sites such as NBC, The Daily News, CNN Health, Chicago Tribune and USA Today. Funnily enough, we couldn’t find any of these articles after hectically searching for them online.

BrainPlus IQ

BrainPlus IQ understands that by the time most people hit 30, cognitive function begins to decline and although the motivation is there, the brain can no longer keep up at focusing for longer periods of time. Today, there are thousands of supplement companies that are releasing very similar cognitive enhancing products with very similar formulas. Some overprice them while others are not so focused on making money but rather ensuring customer guarantee. Like many products out there, BrainPlus IQ is designed to boost focus, memory and energy. While their nicely designed website may fool many into thinking that the manufacturers have designed something legit, we’re going to take a closer look at their ingredients list to test whether or not it’s any good.

Manufacturers

It doesn’t take a genius to realize that some companies are in this business just in it for money. After scrutinizing BrainPlus IQ’s webpage, we were not too impressed. Firstly, while there are many claims about the product’s benefits written in huge bold letters across the website, we couldn’t see any details about the formula. Secondly, the manufacturers say that their product has undergone clinical trials and the results showed that BrainPlus IQ can boost brain power up by 89.2% and increase focus by 121%. Where are the details to these clinical trials? Why aren’t we shown the scientific data to these claims?

BrainPlus IQ’s website is completely plastered with phrases such as “Claim my order now!” and “This product is currently in stock now and available until midnight ONLY!”. Clearly not the case, because everytime we visit the website it seems that the product is still available. This method of rushing customers into buying a product without even knowing which ingredients compose the formula is not something we’re fans of.

Moreover, the manufacturers have claimed that their product has been featured on famous news sites such as NBC, The Daily News, CNN Health, Chicago Tribune and USA Today. Funnily enough, we couldn’t find any of these articles after hectically searching for them online.

Ingredients

The only thing we know about BrainPlus IQ’s formula is that it is composed of a 100% phosphatidylserine complex. Phosphatidylserine is a compound that can effectively boost memory in some people, but is this enough to improve other aspects of cognitive function such as focus and mental alertness? Hard to say, but the probable answer is no.

The word ‘complex’ up there indicates that there are other ingredients packed into each capsule, but exactly which substances have the manufacturers chosen? We’re not too impressed by the company’s secretive ways.

Results

Since BrainPlus IQ has used such shady marketing techniques, none of our team members were willing to step up to give it a try…and understandably so. No one should force themselves to take a product without knowing exactly what it is made up of, and that includes you!

Other Reviews

The only consumer reviews on BrainPlus IQ that we were able to spot were located on x4Facts.com. Here’s a few that don’t even make any sense…

“I is horhe from mexico………..my mustache is bigger now. Thanks brainplusIQ. Ohhhhhlaaaayyyy” – Horhe on x4Facts.com

“It is very effective product to be focused and pleased in daily activities. Recommended for day dreamers.” – St on x4Facts.com

Cost

When you visit BrainPlus IQ’s website, you will notice that you are required to give away your personal details (first & last name, address, postal code, phone number, email) before being able to see how much each bottle costs. Sounds strange, we know, but that’s how it is. To be able to provide you guys with information on costs, we decided to be the guinea pigs and plug in our personal details. Here are the different packages available:

1 Bottle: $64.95 CAD

3 Bottles: $137.85 CAD

5 Bottles: $174.75 CAD

Summary

BrainPlus IQ is a product that claims to boost focus, memory and mental energy. The first thing we did after finding out about this supplement was to visit their website. Unfortunately, we came to realize that BrainPlus IQ is one of those companies who have chosen the dark side by keeping their formula and prices quite secretive. In fact, you are forced to give away your personal details before even getting to know the cost of each bottle – something that should not the case with nootropic supplements.

BrainPlus IQ also promises that their product is 100% safe and won’t trigger any side effects. You can understand how ridiculous it is to make such claims because even the very best batch of supplements can lead to minor side effects. Certain ingredients can interact with each person’s medication and health conditions, leading to unwanted results. To be frank, we are not very impressed by the company’s choice of marketing techniques. Additionally, the price of each bottle does not come cheap; $64.95 is above average. If you’re eager to buy a cognitive enhancing supplement that can help you with memory, focus, productivity and energy then we recommend going with a product manufactured by a more reliable company, such as Avanse Nutraceuticals.

Elevated fuel levels improve your brain performance and the ability to process responses quickly.

Alpha IQ is a nootropic pill purporting to fight against any mental issues. The creators claim it is 100% natural and provides better brain health with zero side effects. What makes this product different from other all-in-one “nootropic” products on the market?

Key Ingredients

Choline

Choline has a critical role in neurotransmitter function because of its impact on acetylcholine and dopaminergic function. Studies in animals suggest that CDP-choline supplements increase dopamine receptor densities and can ameliorate memory impairment.

Lithium

Lithium shields neurons from biological stress and toxins. In most experimental studies, lithium, in therapeutic doses, exerts a favourable influence on various cognitive functions.

Alpha GPC 50

Alpha-GPC is a choline-containing supplement that boosts acetylcholine in the brain and protects the nerves. It may help with age-related cognitive decline. Younger people also use it to enhance cognition, but its nootropic effects are not well researched.

“This a total scam. I responded to a trial offer by this company of $4.95 plus shipping. They charged my card $89.95 for two bottles and then charged my card $79.00 a couple of days later. Fortunately the fraud department at my bank is getting my money returned. I have cancelled my card to keep them from trying to steal more money from me. Do not under any circumstances order anything from this company.”– Sandra knapp
