Brain Armor – Super Omega-3 Vegan Softgel Capsules (60 Count)
One of the things that I find that makes this supplement different from other omega 3’s is that it uses algal oil for the EPA and DHA instead of fish oil. Basically the fish get the EPA and DHA from algae , then we get it from them. Using algal oil ( made from the algae ) cuts out the middle man and is sustainable because the algae can be farmed . This makes the product vegetarian and environmentally friendly and also cuts out the possible mercury issues from some fish. The supplement also has vitamin D3 and E that helps in brain health. I eat a KETO diet and the addition of the MCT oil in this supplement makes it a great not just for the regular person but especially for the KETO person ( look up MCT oil for the added benefits for health)
CONS:
capsules are about the size of a large multivitamin, i have no problem taking them but people with difficulties swallowing should be aware. If you can take a one a day multivitamin you should be able to swallow these.

EDIT: I can’t recommended this brand anymore. The last 4 bottles in a row have all had tons of broken capsules and oil all over the bottle. At first I figured it was a fluke shipping issue, but after a year of never having this issue and now having it with every order I think it’s a quality control issue. They need to get back on track or I’ll be moving elsewhere.
Original review: I was recommended omega 3 (combined with eye wash) by my doctor for dry eye, but I struggled to find vegan supplements with the dosage she prescribed. With the lower dose pills my dry eye improved, but I still had bad days. This omega 3 has been a life-saver. The dosage is much higher than competitors and the effects show it. I rarely ever suffer from dry eye now thanks to this omega 3.
Something to be aware of if you struggle swallowing pills is that they’re fairly huge (the biggest pills I take), but if that’s not a problem for you I can’t recommend them highly enough.

As a result, only a small fraction of it has omega-3’s effects — 10%–15%, maybe less. The remaining 85%–90% gets burned up as energy or metabolized in other ways. So in terms of omega-3 “power,” a tablespoon of flaxseed oil is worth about 700 milligrams (mg) of EPA and DHA.”
