Hi! Today I have a short review on Lancome Advanced Genifique Youth Activating Serum & eye cream. I am so into anti aging creams and serums, that if a product claims anything anti-aging or firming skin I am in. Besides I don’t feel odd to say that I am addicted to anti-aging skincare and will try anything for a more youthful looking skin. Here is another anti-aging serum that I want to talk about. Both Lancome Advanced Genifique youth activating serum and eye cream were a gift from my husband.

It will help with the firmness of the skin and help reduce the look of fine line and wrinkles. The Génifique line also includes an eye cream, eye serum and masks. But I have the serum and the eye cream to review.
The packaging of Lancome Advanced Genifique Youth activating serum elegant and luxurious. The gradient glass bottle and a self- loading dropper is absolutely beautiful. This is the first time I tried something so pretty and unique. I specifically love the auto-filling dropper. Even the little jar of eye cream is super cute and luxe.
The texture and consistency of the serum is translucent and watery. The light weight texture absorbs quickly into the skin. It has a mild fragrance but nothing too over powering. While the consistency of the eye cream is a light weight and gel like creamy texture which is not greasy or oily. It feel nourishing and cooling when I apply.
The formula is patented with the key ingredient bifidus extract that helps to protect and create a moisture barrier on the skin. Studies suggest bifidus extract is a probiotic loaded with antioxidant and helps to prevent sun damage. The other key ingredients are hyaluronic acid, glycerin, the star ingredients that hydrate the skin making it more plump and radiant. Dimethicone is common in skincare that helps to glide the product smoothly and lock in all the moisture, while giving a smooth appearance.
This serum is very light weight and absorbs into the skin easily. After application it feels a little sticky but then its gone in a few seconds. It feels as if nothing is on the skin and I love that light feeling – no greasiness or heaviness or oily residue. If we use too much it may feel sticky but very little goes a long way. This bottle will last a long time. It feels good on the skin and helps with balancing the texture, fine lines and uneven skintone.

When it comes to purchasing eye cream, it is always hard for me to decide which one to buy but certainly not the case when deciding on moisturizers. I tend to stick with the same moisturizer but I like to switch eye creams from time to time. A YouTube beauty vlogger highly recommended innisfree Orchid Eye Cream. I recently got a sample of the product and I am going to use it when I travel next month.
Lancôme Advanced Génifique Yeux Youth Activating Eye Cream
When Sister found out that I had been using Lancôme Advanced Génifique Yeux Youth Activating Eye Cream, she thought that it was too potent for my current skin but I thought otherwise. This one I thought was considered mild as compared to the other anti-ageing eye products from Lancôme.
I purchased this eye cream end of September last year when I attended the wedding of a close friend in Miri. Mom asked why didn’t I buy from Singapore when it’s usually cheaper. Well, it is for most brands but with the inflation of RM, buying from Malaysia can be more affordable nowadays. After a bit of Maths calculation, I found out it was about S$10 or RM30 cheaper in Malaysia.
The product has a light and yet creamy consistency. Some eye products tend to give breakouts of milia seeds under the eye areas but this product doesn’t. The product is easy to apply on the skin and it gets absorbed real quick. I can feel that my under eye skin area is moisturized and hydrated throughout the day.
The appearance of fine lines seems to have reduced but not completely as there are still some noticeable ones. If you are looking for an eye product which works for dark circles too, this one may not be for you. I don’t have obvious dark circles but it is rather noticeable when you look closely. So, here’s what I think of Lancôme Advanced Génifique Yeux Youth Activating Eye Cream in a nutshell:
Pros:
1. Light and yet creamy consistency, doesn’t cause milia seeds breakout.
2. Fine lines are noticeably reduced.
3. Under eye areas are moisturized and hydrated throughout the day.
4. Price line is considered affordable for an anti-ageing product as compared to some other brands that I know of.
Cons:
1. Doesn’t help much with the dark circles.
